8 / 12 atma, creeping closer!

Had a massive dry spell in East Thanalan and Middle La Noscea but then got like three atma in an hour. I think if you just keep at it and play to maximize the number of fates you get to, it more or less evens out eventually - probably to about an atma every 1-2h.

Also got a Tiny Tapir from a venture and a UAT in ST. Probably should have bought a lottery ticket.

I got a small problem here. Up till a week ago I was using a wire 360 controller but there is some issue with the wire and I connect my ps3 controller with scp with bluetooth and it work perfectly fine with no lag.

However I find the ps3 controller to be too light and I try connecting the ps4 controller and added the ds4 driver to the Bluetooth. It work but there is some input lag issue/desyn on the ps4 controller. Anyway to resolve it?

Sorry Xellos, I'm not familiar with the PS4 controller on Windows.

Grats on the t9 win, PowerYoga! That's rough that the first weapon is wasted though. I hope it works out next week. My group just got started on it last week and that's one busy fight lol. How much practice did it take to finally get to the end? We saw the 2nd set of golems last week but we've still got to get consistent with phase 1, much less 2. Of course it really helps having access to 110 weapons and unlimited sands/oils for everyone before you start on t9. XD

we had major scheduling and technical problems, but i think it took us 2 months to get the fight down.

We spent about 2 weeks perfecting phase 1 and 2. There's a lot going on. When heavens fall happens (phase 3 transition) it was a clusterfuck for about another 2 weeks. Last phase (dragons and divebombs) was about a week and half of solid learning just phase 4. We were having problems getting to p4 cleanly for about 2 weeks despite knowing what to do for p3.

Goals for each phase:

1) 4 meteors in p1
2) all golems dead with about 7-8 seconds to spare (and people stoneskinned/adloq'd) in p2
3) 2 heavens falls in p3
4) no more than 3 divebombs in p4

Also wanted to note the meteor dropping is by far the most complicated piece in phase 2. We just run around in a circle dropping it on the ring, and if a person gets double/triples he drops it in the spindly tentacle things.

edit edit edit: We had about 2 runs a week for 3 weeks, so keep that in mind.

2.35 allegedly set to release "the week after next"

So maybe around 8/19? (Or maybe 8/26-27 depending on the translation/context exactly - the 27th would mark the one year anniversary of ARR which would make sense for some sort of patch/event)

I'm looking forward to personal housing if nothing else, I'd love to have some more gardens but really CBF with having an alt character/FC. In retrospect I kind of wish I'd gotten a Medium house for two gardens but I'm not too interested in moving currently.

9/12 atma, looking forward to being done with this so I can just farm myth via primals or maybe actually get into "The Hunt" a bit finally - though I've actually been really enjoying the 'hunt' for primal demimateria and crafting the new weapons as well.

That kinda sucks. This isn't our cleanest fight but it was our first kill. A few things to note here:

1) The ground markings are there for for both p1 meteor droppings and for heavens fall "safe" locations.
2) We do the circle route for golems. Everybody starts at A and run clockwise. If people get 2-3 meteors they'll put the meteors on the spindly things. DPS burn blue, tanks pick up green and blue respectively.
3) DPS can be higher for heavensfall. Ideally you don't want to see that 2nd dragon. Dodging super novas is tricky, but you can see the melees are mostly on the same side and just move to the other side of the boss once supernova hits them.
4) P4 is a clusterfuck. Basically pay attention to debuffs. I'm terrible at this so I can't offer too much feedback (you'll see me get hit by lunar dynamo halfway through as well as the iron chariots). Basically any major fuckups in this phase is a wipe.

The Moonfire Faire is returning! Not gonna lie, I've really been waiting for some way to get those Yukatas, they're pretty sweet and seen a few of the red ones in game on Legacy players I think. I bought 500 leftover wet bombard ash for 500g in hopes that I can just buy what I want and skip the FATEs lol

Also the official anniversary site is live - not much to see yet aside from an overview of some events that are going on but I think it's neat they're putting so much effort into making it into a 'big deal'. Also looks like part of it will be another free-to-play period for just over a week this time, maybe I can get a few of my friends to give it another go at least.

In the event you do want to play they just started a Recruit a Friend program as well which can hook you up with a hat that boosts your XP while levelling up to 25 - decent bonus for someone just starting out and I would imagine someone on here would be able to 'recruit' you.

Also I would say it's clearly a cut above most other MMOs available - very regular content release cycle (roughly ever 3 months - probable expansion sometime around mid 2015) which have been loaded with new stuff as well as fixed and improvements to existing systems to make them more friendly/fun/usable. Really the best thing to do is give the free trial a shot however. Trial accounts are restricted to level 20 and I think it won't let you chat in shout (global/general) chat and some other stuff but you can still get a feel for how the game plays/looks/runs.

Yoshida's part isn't particularly interesting (I feel like I've seen almost all those questions before) but some of the economic data and slides from 2.3 when Komoto starts to speak is really neat to see. As is some of the design information regarding the Golden Saucer and some of the activities they'd like to try to implement in it.

Wow, pre-orders for FFXIV reportedly up to 1M in China. FFXIV could very well have 3M "players" worldwide. Reliable pop numbers are hard to come by for games, but that could make it the #2 MMO worldwide by some counts I think.

Cool. Where did you see the 2.35 date? They've said or insinuated ixali quests will be DoH or DoL haven't they? I hope it doesn't require the max tier of equipment if so. Only 1 more to go...

And as far as I know the only confirmed content is the Ixali. Which is supposed to be structured differently from the other beast tribes - somehow involving crafting, but I swear I remember reading you can actually accomplish it without being a DoH and it's more intended to generate interest in the DoH professions for people who havent crafted. Hard to say what that's actually going to be like, but I'm curious at any rate.

And I think the special event or quest for players who have reached max rep with the beastmen tribes will be implemented as well.
