I know...and I agree with you on that too. I just just haphazardly responding to both of you in my last post.

By the way, here's something I like about crafting: you never get a poor condition without first getting an excellent. Something I don't like: noticing the poor condition and knowing you skipped the excellent.

oh yeah that sucks, sometimes my brain gets numb and i just end up pressing buttons without thinking until i notice i skipped an excellent

So this weekend while leveling up my crafting, went afk for a bit, and ended up taking like a 2 hour nap. Came back and I was still logged in, sitting in game. Apparently, if you are in the crafting kneel stance, the game won't log you out as part of the AFK timer.

Titan HM down after what was way too many attempts. The fight isn't particularly bad really, it's just very punishing for mistakes. Seemed like every time we got well into phase 3 one of us would get hit by Weight of the Land or healing would fall behind during Tumult and we'd lose the tank to Mountain Blaster/whatever it's called.

Ironically when we finally did kill him it was during a 7 man attempt when one of our healers (we took three) DCed like two minutes into the fight lol. Got my ugly ass Artemis Bow! So sad that I got Garuda bow and replaced it in like 36 hours lol, it looks way better.

Finished GSM, thinking Weaver 50 is my next target. Careful Synthesis II looks good.

got culinarian to 31 and alc to 48. 2 more levels to go! Finally unlocked whitebrim levequests so I've just been turning in linolian cubes... unfortunately HQing them with my crap gear is a hit or miss at 20% on average.

The rest of the crafts I bumped up 2-3 levels, now everybody's moved on to mythril and my miner's sitting at 33, will be at mythril for another 3 levels punching away at the mountains. At least I'm making tons of ingots, sheets and rivets out of them, which i'll probably use for some leves after I max out alc. It's funny that my ALC is my highest job and I have a bunch of high lvl dungeons unlocked but can't queue up for because of it.

Also leveled up my crystal shard alt to 15 over the weekend, took a total of about 10 hours to get every craft to 10 and my little lalafel to 10. The plus side is he has over 1k crystals of each type and some have 1.2k-1.5k (fire comes to mind). I highly suggest anybody that's sorely lacking in crystals to get an alt instead: it's just so so so much faster and more fun than mining mountains for 8 hours.

I hope they won't nerf it, I have another alt that I need to level for crystals. But I see a lot of gilfarmers doing the same thing I am doing, but more efficiently... so hop on the wagon quick before it gets nerfed.

edit:

Hey waffle, did you turn in cornmeals for the 31~ levequests or did you just make cornbread out of them? I made a bunch of cornbread but they take 6 shards and I'm not sure that's the best way of approaching the levels. I do want to use/sell what I make to some degree though, and the muffins are great for my paladin when I'm dungeon crawling. On the plus side they are movable on the market (HQ ones at least) and I use 2x a run provided we don't wipe too much.

Does leveling your subjob classes increase your hp/mp pool? For example, I have a 50 BLM, if I don't get Archer and Arcanist to 25 will that hurt my stats?

No, the only thing that goes between classes/jobs is a few cross skills. Each class/job has its own HP/MP pool and also has its own bonus point allocation.

I turned in the HQ cornmeals I had for the leve quests and then moved onto Acorn Cookies; I think I basically crafted those until I hit 35 and then turned in the leve? At this point I had a lot of mats (Iron Acorns in particular) from botanist friends that I made gear for so you might find other recipes to be optimal.

got archer to 30 finally, i hit 25 on miner and went on a crafting spree, with the making of silver ingots, mudstone whetstones and a couple of rings/earrings/bracers to get rid of my gem stone stock i almost made it to 30, made silver rings and turned them in to the leve and broke 30, now im gonna mine like crazy to catch up

I don't have any botanists and iron acorns are fairly expensive on my server (70 a pop). I've been watching the market on it but it's fairly consistent... I'll have to evaluate it with the 3x3 rewards since I doubt I can HQ those consistently at 31. I might just continue turning in cornmeals for the meantime, but it's difficult to HQ those if I don't get lucky with 70% touches.

What server on you on? This sounds identical to my FC story for titan last night... 3 healers, got the bow...

Edit: Got Titan finally too, which is a relief considering I never got the Ifrit or Garuda drop for my main job. I was running around in almost all DL gear with crap weapon.

Leviathan, we got the WHM staff. I play pretty much with my FC only though for the 8mans.

Oh, didn't pay attention, I thought you got the titan bow. I'm on Gilgamesh and we did the 3 healer strategy and the titan bow dropped last night. I had 900 philosophies already saved up so I got my Gae Bol. Just need 288 more mythologies to make it + 1.

I also had a FCer get his GSM from 32-50 in 2 hours yesterday LOL. I thought it was you for a second.

Edit: People, start posting your lodestone chars!

Those are some sick crafting levels! Care to share any tips for leveling alchemist? I'm working on it myself and I'm a mere lvl 23 alchie.

waffle's probably a better source since he's a 50 alc, but i'll have to check when I get home. I can't remember what I was making at lvl 23...

Actually I'm 21 alch so feel free lol. Alchemy/Armorer will probably be last for me since I just don't like Comfort Zone (or Piece by Piece) that much. I suppose it's nice for 'spacing' the craft out more and as long as you make it through the duration (without needing that bulk CP) you have a net gain of... 14? 16? Useful but I don't think it has quite as much potential as the other abilities.

One thing I can definitely recommend almost no matter your level though is do the GC turnins every day when possible though, great and easy XP. Sometimes it's worth just buying the HQ off the AH and turning it in if the price is right. And as far as crafting goes your levequest allowances are your best friend and I find it's best to start them around 20-25 so you're in the right range. This thread has a pretty comprehensive list of available leves. The ones marked "triple" will be the best XP per leve if you're short on them, but if money is your main bottleneck stick to crafts you can HQ easily and/or are inexpensive for you. HQ turnin whenever possible, massive XP boost.

And my FC is Cult of Discord.

I got my culinarian up to 37 this weekend, and got most of 30-37 turning in the cornmeal for the levequest. (Also did a few chicken stock leves) Got almost 2 levels just turning in my HQ, and the rest by turning in the NQ. I have been maxed out on leves for several weeks now. Occasionally doing 6 or so to keep from losing them. I also had something like 4 stacks of cornmeal, so it was a no brainer to get those levels really quickly. Got my SH2 and moving back to GSM, BSM, and ARM.

For ARM, the mythril ingot turnin is awesome. It's not as much exp per leve, but the 3x turnin leves for ARM can take so many mats, it actually gets more expensive to do those, so as long as I have excess leves, I'll do the cheaper one that's easy to HQ.

For GSM, I kinda find it easier to just grind out gems etc, as they are very cheap. But I do have a large excess of shards from 1.0, so I'm not so limited there.

The engineering and supply manuals from the GC are very nice too. An added benefit from doing all the GC crafting turnins. An extra free 40k exp is nice, especially for the miner.

Yeah I only got 15 alchemy for the skill that gives 20 CP back on good condition and I got to 18 just from GC turn-ins alone.

I got 50 Carpenter by simply doing the triple turn in leves with HQ. Actually made money on that too.

I wouldn't describe Comfort Zone as important as several other abilites, but it definitely has potential. When you get it, you'll start your crafting 100% of the time with that ability when trying to HQ, because it's an easy +14 CP, and sometimes you'll get lucky and end up with this:

Comfort Zone, Tricks of the Trade, Inner Quiet, Tricks of the Trade...bam, +54 CP right off the bat.

oh whaaat, I thought you were 50 alc lol. Anyway I dug around a bit and remembered what I did for alchemy.

I remember doing HQ ethers, it's a low level leve so it's not a triple, but ethers are easy to make and the turn in is nice. I made a few budding ash wands once I could HQ those reliably, which brought me to 25ish where I worked off hi-potions until 35ish. I made a few growth formula gammas, but those are not easy to HQ and the blue landtrap leaves may be expensive. The HQ hi-potions were HQ'd more reliably and gave mroe exp than non-hq growth formula gammas turn ins.

At around 35-37 I made HQ poison potions like no tomorrow. They're easy to make and mats are buyable from limsa. I made those well into lvl 45, it gives about 90k on a completion.

Then here I am, planning on lvling the rest of my alchemy off linolian cubes. I did all my GC turnins daily as well unless the mats were ridiculously expensive.
