Ok, in the interest of helping those who can't wait until 7pm or 9pm or whatever to actually watch the darn thing, here I'm going to post spoilers of the last episode's major happenings.

Now I'm going to press ENTER ~40 times, hopefully that is enough to give you some whitespace.

Don't read this unless you are unable to watch tonight's episode due to work or an exam or something... the last episode is really worth it!

NOTE: I suggest you make this thread the official "discussion thread" for the final 24 episode. After you watch the episode in 5 hours or so, add your thoughts on the show here.

Support the show, buy the DVD's when they come out!

1. In the first 20 min. of the ep there is a major John Woo/Peckinpah style shootout between Jack and the 2 Drazens. Jack is all hyped up on super-adrenalin because he THINKS his daughter is dead. Victor and Andre can't compete with Berserker Jack; they bite the big one. Victor gets pumped with like 20 .45cal bullets I think (Jack keeps shooting the body after the intial 2 headshots)

2. Senator Palmer divorces his evil b1tch-wife (happens around the 40min. mark I think)

3. Jack deduces that Nina is the evil b1tch-traitor, from various things he learns from 25min. to 45min. (episode-filler I guess)

4. When Nina hears that Jack won and took out all the baddies, she panics and begins to "pack up"... Jack's wife follows her, and finds her "secret lair" or something... Nina tries to BS her... she doesn't buy it... Nina is forced to gag her and tie her to a chair. BTW we see on a security videotape that Jamie Farell (remember her?) did NOT commit suicide... Nina killed her! What an evil b1tch!

5. Nina escapes from CTU central and easily takes out the lamer guards that Mason sends to "apprehend" her in the parking garage.

6. While Nina is driving out of the garage, Jack drives in... there is a nice shooting scene here, each trying to hit each other from their cars, but silly Nina still has the silencer on her .45 so Jack manages better accuracy (presumably, hehe) and hits her in a non-critical area, disabling her.

7. Jack is very very close to "doing her in" when all the CTU dudes show up (Mason, Tony Almeyda (poor guy, he was *sleeping* with Nina)) and they coax him into letting Nina go... Jack submits... the CTU dudes take away Nina in chains or whatever.

8. Jack runs upstairs, & is reunited with his daughter (remember she escaped from the clutches of the Drazens in the previous ep.) but wonders where Teri is...

9. Jack finds Nina's "secret lair" in the CTU basement and finds Teri tied to a chair. But the only problem is.... you'll have to see for yourself!

10. To set the stage for the next season of this totally wicked show, pay close attention to the language that Nina/"Yelena" is speaking on the phone, when she is at her "secret lair" in the beginning of the episode, trying to arrange for her extraction from CTU since her cover is going to be blown. I'll give you a hint; it's NOT Serbian!

Two hours until it starts, and I just couldn't resist.
No biggie, haven't been able to watch in a month anyway, the cable's been really weird. However, I was getting Fox last night, so maybe I'll be able to catch this one.

What I don't understand is why Nina did this. She just said she was doing her job, but that's taking the stupid way out in terms of story telling. Then Teri dying was dumb. Despite the fact that I didn't like her much, I don't think she should have died. I think that she should have lived, and then there would be a split screen showing Jack silently thanking Nina, despite what she did.

If Nina hadn't been so dumb and said "why germany?" or whatever, then shouldn't have HAD to kill Teri!!!

I liked it till Jack's wife died. Kinda suck for the ending. Don't get me wrong, If a major character died during the season, it would have made things very interesting. But this is the last episode and it kind of leaves with a bad feeling. Oh well. I'm very curious on how the next season will be.

I enjoyed seeing a major character killed off. Events like that are all too rare on TV these days.

Man, what a series. Season two should be rather interesting.

Kiefer Sutherland is such a kickass actor. Even though I knew Kim was alive and well, Kiefers acting when he heard Kim was dead got me a li'l choked up.

i cant see jack thanking nina in spite of everything!! if it werent for nina a lot of stuff would have been less complicated (hence it would have been a boring series) so jack was right in everything he did. jack was by far the most believable character.

if anyone' wife died, it should have been palmers, at least it was a nice "in your face bi%^" ending with her...all and all by far the best TV series i have ever seen...anyone arguing that take it up with yours truly!

this show took lots of risks with the format, and this just goes to show that they didn't "wuss out" at the end!

what if

1) teri isn't dead (highly unlikely)

2) even MORE likely, Nina didn't kill her! Did you see the way she looked at Tony? Maybe even Mason???

About time a main character is killed off. They've been the targets all along, yet everyone around them has been killed instead of themselves. Besides, this sets up a good second season as we see why Nina was speaking to a German and Jack gets to avenge his wife's death. I'll just be glad if we hardly hear from Palmer in season two. He brought nothing to the table and only served as time filler in my opinion. The whole political scene was so contrived with campaigns killing people off and presidential candidates divorcing their wives. If we only hear about Palmer through news reports next year, I'll be happy.

Your point about Palmer being nothing more than a mere time-filler holds some merit.

However, I can't help but imagine that the creators of the show have some Grand Scheme of Things(tm) in mind when they introduced Palmer and perhaps he will play a more Jack-like "important" role in Season 2.

Think about it this way; Palmer's Presidential career is over (any objections) so perhaps he goes back to working for the DoD or whatever, and he ends up working with Jack in closer proximity in Season 2.

At what point do you think the next season will begin? It could either be within less than a week, since Jack couldn't really sit on his ass for long before he interrogated Nina to find out what she knew, then probably try and meet up with that lady on the phone if anything. (I think CTU records telephone conversations, if it's not a secure session)

Or it could probably pick up with Jack in Germany, and the first few minutes is merely a flashback of Jack interrogating Nina.

I wonder what they'll use as leverage, since I'm guessing that even the most diehard fan doesn't want to see main characters getting kidnapped every other episode, like this season.

Damn it, Nina is in for a world of hurt. I can't believe they let Teri die. And I want a car with streaming video in the dash...

Wow.
