I expect that if it comes down to McCain v. Hillary that Rush will do the world?s biggest back flip and support McCain.

We may not like McCain for a lot of reasons, but there is no way we sit on the sidelines and let Hillary into the White House.

Now if the Democrats nominate Obama then you could see some conservatives sit at home and take the symbolic loss instead of voting for McCain. It could be McGovern part 2, take the loss and get back to our roots etc.

I agree with some of your points, but you can't use tonight's results as a true gauge. Obama didn't campaign at all in FL and I'm sure many democrats didn't even bother going to the polls. I wouldn't have if I still lived in FL.

Super Tuesday and CA will be the real test to see who Dems want for their nominee.

Back to the thread's original subject: I'm glad McCain won over Romney et al. However, part of me still wants the McCain from 2000.

Alright it's not official but it's for damned certain. He did well though. In most states he was just behind Ron Paul! :laugh:

get out the vote efforts are a huge part of Obama's prior successes and were a part of Bush's success in '00 and '04 as well... I don't think a campaign in which no candidates (on the D side) can utilize their machines is really a fair gauge of anything.

Calm down buddy. Obama once again was very strong amongst black voters, getting 70% of their votes. Unforunately for him there's not nearly as many black voters in FLA as there was in SC. So sorry but yeah, you're boy got creamed in a state that is much more representative of the rest of the country than SC is.

Florida, the garbageman state, has once again lived up to its billing, and this time in a positive way as they took out the Rudy Giuliani garbage from the race. But they also killed off John Edwards so one out of two is par for the course.

Now we can all worry about the political pollution Florida will offer in the general election.
