The new new CP is much better than ye olde ramshackle one and the ill-fated "new" one previously. Now, if they will just fix the Full Screen Video defect, Profiles (with Color) and Clock Frequency Settings (works fine in 90 series but fails the test with these)...

Actually, it's the leaked 158.16 with the poop CFS. I did have to edit the setup inf to get it installed. Disgustipatedly, I "went back" to 93.81 which were released by Leadtek even though Nvidia considers them beta. Previously I had stuck with official WHQL 93.71. I'm not in any hurry to install 158.19 official beta now after all that messin' and will definitely avoid leaks (165.01 and so on).

If you need this feature, don't waste your time. The driver locks you @ full screen and the option to change it isn't even there.

I'll try the newer leaked one, if it isn't available in those I'm back to leaked 100.xx.

This is why I always recommend a monitor with it's own 1:1 pixel mapping.

Hello guys, I like these drivers for xp ..so far.. the only problem I have is no fan control. I like to speed my gpu fan up when gaming.I've never used riva tuner before as I've had no need,at the risk of sounding noobish...the riva tuner everone uses,is it the 2.0 version I find from a google search?

Indeed, same here. My monitor even has *custom* scaling, but all of its scaling options are a wash with this broken driver crap. The drivers scale the output signal up to 1920*1200, rendering my HW scaler powerless to help in any way, unless I use VGA to bypass the driver scaler entirely - but that's also clearly unacceptable as a long term solution.

Man these new drivers suck. Oblivion works fine, but the drivers themselves....

First of all, I lost fan control and temp monitoring. Second, the GPU fails the OC testing... which never happens. Third, the new options crash the control panel. What a useless pile of crap. And yes, I uninstalled the old drivers, rebooted into Safe Mode, ran DC Pro, rebooted, installed the new drivers, then rebooted.

My fan control is working with Riva and no crash so far in WoW or the CP, I havent rebooted tho to see if the fans control stays working.


Edit the CP started crashing when trying to change settings to set things for certain programs.

If ATI's driver support/function/stability seem to be better at their launch...this GTS is gone in a heartbeat.

Why can't you control the fan with ATI Tool?

I don't think fan control works with 8800 cards...I don't see fan control listed when I open up ATiTool settings.

Sure thing about the GTS...although I'd be shipping from Canada so you might be charged customs.

158.19s work great for me. The major annoying bug fixes from the 97s to low 100s are still intact and they fixed a few more this time around. Fixed some transparency and shadow problems with Titan Quest and there's less paging/rubber banding also.

Painman, double check the control panel settings. Flat panel scaling still works fine in these drivers. Change the setting to "Do Not Scale" and set your panel to 1:1. I'm running black borders on all sides at 1680x1050 in both desktop and games. 1600x1200 etc. etc. also work.

For fan control and overclocking, I've used 2 programs since the 100 series were leaked. ATI Tool for OC'ing and RivaTuner for fan control. Annoying, but it works until NV sorts out their issues. Overall happy with these drivers, especially since they're finally on NV's site and don't involve leaked downloads, modded .infs and busted setup .exes.....

Got it working, eh? Where/how do you enter it? I didn't even see it listed in my options.

Try Gainwards XperTool for fan control.
