Wait, so they went through seven more final revisions in one day? I don't get the numbering. Are people just making these up and hoping someone will believe they're real or are they actually linked somewhere on an NVidia-owned FTP?

Well, if you tried actually installing the drivers instead of posting mindless crap, you might find that amongst other things the control panel has been revised as has the system tray icon... Those fakers are pretty darn clever aren't they? :roll:

Now if it wasn't only 3DMark scores that increased....then it would be worth it to switch drivers. I had a bitch of a time trying to go to some of the 100 series drivers. Nothing worked and even got BSODs so I went back to my 97.92 driver.

Honestly, I have never had so much trouble with drivers before. For ATI cards I've had a Rage 128 AIW, 9600XT, X800XL, and an X1800XL...never had driver problems (was using mostly Omega drivers). For NVidia cards I've only had a Geforce 2 MX400 and VERY briefly a 7900GTO, then the 8800GTS, which has had loads of problems with drivers. Guess it's just my luck but I even had troubles with my Geforce 2, and the 7900GTO I didn't have long enough (only 1 month) to run into anything.

The new 97.94 drivers are working very well with my 8800GTS 320MB, you might want to give them a try.

You must not play WoW.

Ive been playing WoW on those drivers for quite a while now. (not 8000 series though, if its hardware and driver specific)

It is an 8800 type of thing, 17 pages of crashes on the blizz tech forums, thats why I use the 97.95 modded drivers they are the only drivers so far tht fixed the crashing.

I heard it was fixed in the 101.70 Vista driver, so I would assume that it's still fixed in these new 158-series drivers. I'm guessing that the XP and Vista driver code base has finally been sync'd because the version numbers are almost identical between the two operating systems.

New drivers for NVIDIA are all coming out supporting 6-, 7- and 8-series GPU's. You shouldn't need a modded inf at all.
