Official Gears of War 3 thread

yea i didn't wanna spoil it but now that you did i'll talk a little bit more about it

he said it is a pretty cool weapon and called it Tremors heh. that sounds exactly like what you were explaining too. i will say though, camping was never an issue in the Gears series to me most of the time, but this weapon seems to be more than for campers since it can get anyone behind any cover.

I can just see the digger vs. one shot battles now. Anyone that has Bulletstorm that will be rolling the beta on the 18th, hit me up. I will be on playing the beta. It's been a while since I have played a Gears game.

I honestly don't know anybody who plays GoW 1 or 2 other than Horde Mode in GW2. P v P is too static and there are too many other games with better head to head game play. This is why most people play co-op and fight in horde mode until they drop. Also, the graphics and collision engine in both games are terribly dated.

IMHO, the campaign in GW2 was 1000x better than GW1. The first game had it's moments, but too far in between and felt like Doom 3 80% of the time. The train sequence at the end was well done though.

I gotta disagree with you, I think graphically it is better than 90% of the games out there.

Initial thoughts? I hated GOW2 cause the multiplayer was horrible at the start. I hope the GOW3 beta helps solve all of the glitches

Very solid experience so far. Only had one instance where I had problems with matchmaking. King of the Hill is all sort of crazy fun.

We'll have to wait and see how it performs when the Bulletstorm people hit and then the Gears 3 pre-order people hit. Only a few hundred playing right now.

looks pretty cool but looks like a lot more of the same. only thing that seemed different is the rody run shakes a lot more it looked like, but i could be totally wrong cause its been ages since i last played gears.

I gave up trying to get a VIP code on Twitter. Sitting there for hours competing with 100,000 other people over 10 codes seems a bit pointless.

Well of course it does. It's pretty rare for a developer to completely change up how the multiplayer handles in sequels. I will say that Epic has done a good job of fixing what didn't work and making improvements on what did.

Anybody know how long the beta download is? I forgot to start it this morning.
