Not to quote myself, but unfortunately, after picking it back up after this part, it gets a little frustrating. For the first time, the controls get in the way a bit, and I've had to try the same part 3 or 4 times. After that, I say to hell with it, I'm going to bed .

Good.

You are supposed to try the same parts over and over until you get it right. Being able to breeze through it is NOT fun.

Sorry . The answer to your question is neither. The tin case includes basically a heavy cardboard foldout that houses both the game dvd and extras dvd. It's decorated very nicely, and even a corner is indented so as to make for easy removal out of the surprisingly deep tin. So it's not a regular version DVD and case stuffed inside of the tin, nor are there just sleeves. The tin itself is hinged on one side, also, for easy opening.

If you have $10 of disposable income laying around, sure. I've bought a few collector's edition packages in the past, and while they are becoming much, much more common now, they've never been too grand. This definitely is the best of the bunch as far as console games go.

Played the campaign up to the Berserker and played a couple of hours worth of multiplayer. Woah.

Even on a crappy SDTV this game is looking good. Multiplayer is hella fun with the exception of the "Assassination" mode which turns into a camp fest...two draws during a single match.

Still feeling my way with the controls. Hard to get used to the "A" button doing near everything for you.

Going to have to come up with a new term for multiplayer though. Since "bunnyhopping" is out with no jumping, that leaves players rolling all over the map like....tumbleweeds.

Trying not to read any spoilers. Reading gamespots review here are a few points im really dissapointed in:

-Lack of indepth storyline, does not explain background. What makes a good scifi shooter is not only the gameplay but the backstory itself, something fans can sink their teeth into

-Stupid Enemy AI, obviously i haven't played but apparently if you can get around the enemies and seen parts of their body while they're hiding, you can shoot them without them responding, quite dissapointing

-Stupid Friendlies. Maybe it's because I'm playing Brothers in Arms right now but having a useful team would make the game much more interesting. why not have the story progress so that you take command of your squad at some point similar to Republic Commando?

-Boring weapons. Looking at the weapons manifest seems like there aren't any exciting weapons to speak of other than the hammer of dawn and that seems iffy at best in multiplayer.

Either way theres a strong chance im going to buy a xbox360 this christmas and get GoW, but just voicing some of my reservations about teh game itself

You are supposed to try the same parts over and over until you get it right. Being able to breeze through it is NOT fun.

Sadly, I picked it up this morning, and found out that I actually had reached a checkpoint the last time I played, so I had gotten past the part that was frustrating me. I only gave it 3 or 4 tries, next time I won't give up so easily .

You could check EB Games and Gamestop but it is likely that they are sold out as well.

my roomie and i hit up the local EB Games on campus here on monday, reserved the game, was told we were 116th reserve and that they were allotting 150 reserves because that was the number of copies they were receiving.
we got lucky as hell me thinks

i have my copy reserved and will be picking it up today after work. im friggin excited. i might hook it up to my pc and play on my monitor because i have surround sound. id rather play on my 50" hdtv, but i dont have surround sound, and im hearing the sound is amazing!! I wanna hear the damn sound!!!

Anyone who bitches about GoW's graphics needs to sell all of their gaming hardware, because they will never be pleased. This is as good as it gets, and I doubt we'll see anything top it for at least a year or two, and that includes the PC.

after playing 5 hours last night I really wish I had saved my cash for Rainbow 6 vegas instead..

AT even gave thanks to nvidia for making the ps3 obsolete before it even came out.

and ps3's graphics are "supposedly" better than xbox360's...

The only game that'll look comparable on PC is Unreal 2007 and that's because it's the same engine. This game has easily the best graphics of any game out, and this is coming from someone who prefers PC gaming to console...

Yeah, that's the version from 'Donnie Darko', right? I love how the music sounds so eerie paired with the game's visuals!

8800gtx is out already and vista at the end of January, I say 7-9 months tops before we see some dx10 goodness that completely blows GoW out of the water. You simply cannot lump PCs in with consoles.
