8800gtx is out already and vista at the end of January, I say 7-9 months tops before we see some dx10 goodness that completely blows GoW out of the water. You simply cannot lump PCs in with consoles.

To get the BEST graphics (all quality settings maxed out to match the PS3 or 360) out of a PC at a playable framerate, you need an expansive-ass vid card. With my $310 Xbox 360 Platinum, I don't have to worry about anything else.

I used to play into the whole PCs are better bullcrap. I upgraded my machine left and right to stay on top of the latest and greatest. It was futile. Then I got my Xbox 360 and I saw what everyone was talking about. One system, no need to upgrade anything, and awesome graphics down the line. I bought myself a cheap laptop and I haven't missed a beat since.

I'm not saying that they will be, but GoW is JUST now tapping into the 360's potential a year out from launch. There are sure to be even better looking games coming out in the future for the 360 and PS3.

And console gamers don't have to worry about if their CPU is fast enough or if they have a beefy enough GPU. It's all plug n play and that's the beauty of it.

Something to note.

The game is pretty light on story, but is heavy on atmosphere. You don't feel disconnected from the game. It feels very real.

Very very very fun. I will be trying out co-op soon.

The graphics are unreal (no pun intended). I have never seen graphics like this, even on a PC. I'm playing it on my 19" LCD @ 1280x1024. Amazing.

Yes I do not take into account money, PC parts are too volatile anyway. In a few months the G80 will be like half the price, if not totally out of production lol. Its an apples and oranges comparison anyway, I dont see why you keep bringing it up.

is it possible to turn off the blood? couple friends of mine are jehovahs witnesses and they wont play games with tons of blood and gore. im trying to persuade them to play GoW because its the best game EVER.

tell them that Viva Pinata is coming out very soon and that would probably be their type of game.

the game has an M rating for a reason (or A, whatever it is), and no you can't turn off the blood.

Yup, no idea how much it tunes it down but the option is there.

Out of curiosity, would a JW be okay with chainsawing someone else as long as there is no blood? Pretty messed up imho and that has nothing to do with religion specifically. I'd say that to any person for any reason.

I think the option is called "Extreme Content" (ON/OFF). Not sure how much it removes though.

Single player mode is freaking good, but over xbox live is awesome.

Its basically 4 on 4 at any number of locations. Very tactical, but still has a intense run and gun feel to it. Its great hearing your teammates yell "He's freaking on the right hand side, there's three of em!!! ohh sh!T (you hear a chainsaw) IM DOWN!!!" As you run around the corner to revive your friend you see him hacked to pieces by a chainsaw.
