WHAT THE #$(#^$(*#@

SPOILER
I have been trying to beat the flying cement angels (in the cometary) for about an hour now. WTF! How do I beat them? I know, tether to the gate. I can't do it enough times prior to dieing though. HELP ME! I believe they are called stone angels. And it seems like this part of hte game is luck, not skill that gets you passed it. Awesome game till I have had to put up with this crap.

After playing some more, this game needed to bake a little longer. It's still a fun game so far but things like getting caught in doorways, ghosts getting stuck (really?), and the other issues keep it from being stellar. After the first mission at the hotel and fighting Stay-Puft, the game took me back to the firehouse where I quit for the night. When I loaded my game save up the next day, instead of appearing back at the firehouse to learn more about the story and talk with the characters, the game loaded me up right outside of the library for the next mission.

Now I know to do the firehouse stuff first before I quit playing but that was very annoying.

Watching the 6 yo daughter playing it on the wii currently. She's doing pretty good on Rookie mode. Don't have any other consoles but graphics look pretty decent compared to most other wii games, not the best I've seen but better than the majority.

I'm about to retry what i mentioned above (spoilers). I'll give it 30 minutes before I check back. If anyone can tell me what I have to do, please do so.

I got passed the part I was griping about. If you can not figure it out, PM me and I'll give you some tips.

My impression of the game (NO SPOILERS)
I finally beat the game. I'd give the game a 7/10. If they spent another month polishing it up, it would have been an 8 or 9 out of 10. The long reload times in combination with the dialog you have to go through at certain parts of the game after it loads can get maddening. I got stuck near the end and it took me probably 30 times to get by the point I mentioned above. The thing is, it was a 1 minute load time and about 2 more minutes of dialog that I had to listen to.

And nobody mentioned another sloppy issue (360 in my case). Every time you start the game, it asked you to select a storage device. And after selecting it warns you that any saved content on that drive will be over-written. So, you think you are going to loose your save game data, but it doesn't over-write the old data. It is annoying though. The game should know where you last told it to save and the warning about over-writing data is incorrect.

Another minor annoyance is the pause menu has some scrollable areas to read text, but you can not scroll far enough on occasion to read everything.

Over-all, the game is worth playing. Anyone that is a fan of the movies will not be disappointed. The jokes are in it and they are actually funny. The only thing I want now is another movie. Or re-release the first one in theaters!

Yeah, I just beat the game as well. Rented it on Thursday. I'll have to give the multiplayer a try as well.

IHateMyJob lists other things that I found annoying as well. I'd probably add repetitive to the list as well in some parts. The plot, dialogue, and jokes are great and the gameplay is solid for the most part. It just needed some polishing.

Wonder how well it'll be supported. Several of these probs can be fixed with patches. It won't fix the length but could possibly help loading times and skipping dialog can be added as well. For the long checkpoint loading times after dying, is anybody running the game from the hard drive and still getting this issue? Just wondering if an install would help at all on the 360.

You can install to the HDD? Tell me how to do so and I'll give it a whirl tonight.

With the Ghostbusters disk in your 360:
My Xbox -> Game Library -> Select Ghostbusters from the Recent Games list -> Choose Install to Hard Drive.

I've been running the game from the HDD from the get go and the loading times are still quite long.

I'll give it a go when I get home. Probably at around 8 or 9 PM. I'll see if I ge the same results as TKE899.

I did not have any issue with reading the text. Played on 360 with HDMI, and The game immediately had an update to install too.

The tactic for beating the cement angels (as IHMJ2004 doubtless discovered) is-

SPOILER:

Tether them to each other. I also hit B and run in between shots, to keep from getting pummeled so much. You have to time it right of course, and it helps to be fast and accurate with your shots. I was knocked down and killed more than the rest of the game put together, but enjoyed finally finding something challenging.

Must have A.S.A.P. upgrades are the slam dunk and fast trap, they made things much easier. Another tip is: Once you get the tether, you can use it to capture ghosts. I haven't pulled off a stasis trap yet, not certain what the steps are. I think I may need the trap active first?

Great game, I rate it 9/10. I found the experience very fun and satisfying. I took the point away for needing the PKE goggles so often, and the final boss battle being too easy. I didn't find the loading annoying, and have played other games with similar warnings about overwriting data, so they were easy to give a pass when rating.

The fun I had being a Ghostbuster overshadowed minor flaws. Including when I had to reload a checkpoint in the kitchen because my trap landed on top of the stainless steel racks. Once the racks were gone, it just hovered in mid air and could not be retrieved.

I tried out the multiplayer over the weekend. Well, what I could. There didn't seem to be many people playing online...especially non-co-op games. I got in a couple of games of Survival and it was pretty fun working with three other guys to fight wave after wave of ghosts, throwing traps, two or more of us lassoing ghosts into trap, etc. I was disappointed by two things however.

1) There are only 10 rounds and then it ends.
2) After the match is over, you are dumped back to the main menu. Not back to a room with the people you were playing with. Not even back to the multiplayer portion of the menu. Straight to the main menu...

I was really looking forward to this game but I was disappointed. I give it a 6 out of 10. It was the "unfinished" polish that killed it for me. It made it seem like a game from 5 years ago. If they would have worked on it for another few months it could have been great. It seems like at the end they kind of leave it open for sequels so maybe those will be better. But I gotta say, proton packs never get old. But it just wasn't enough to excuse all the other problems.

can more than 1 person play the main story? I rented it and they don't provide a manual.

so far I'm not that excited. Maybe I'm frustrated because I had difficulties with the fisherman and after that Winston and Peter weren't exactly helpful with the construction workers.

Once you blast a ghost and have the ability to slam them, what's the best way to pull them towards traps? should I being using the right stick or move myself instead.

easiest way is to use the regular proton stream and hit the left button to lasso them and then slam them into the ground. I cna wipe out groups of gargoyles and cherubs using this method in seconds.

Also, just finished it on Professional. Only the last guy gave me problems; it was a great game and I hope they have DLC on the way.
