Are you sure you've got the correct properties dialog for your DVD-RW? I have three Primary IDE Channel Properties in the Device Manager and my DVD-RW is in the third one. I have a hard drive and a DVD-RW drive connected to the ide connector. In the Advanced Settings tab both 'Device Type:' and both 'Current Transfer Mode:' are greyed out. Your screenshot looks the same as any of the Primary IDE Channel Properties with no 'Device Type:' attached. The 'Current Transfer Mode' for my DVD-RW is 'Ultra DMA Mode 6'. I really don't know if that's good or bad!

In particular, DVD Decrypter would not go above 1x. Also, it took at least half an hour to reinstall Company of Heroes last week (hardly any time at all the first time), at least half an hour for BF2, and quite possibly at least an hour for Flight Sim X (albeit that's 15GB). Those are not normal install times, I can tell you. The cursor also really lags and skips whenever the DVD drive (NEC 3500) is accessed at all, so there's got to be some kind of problem between these two.

Really didn't want to start another thread for this question...hope to get some responses here.
Anyone running a RAID array of any type? I'm considering running two separate RAID 0 stripes...is this possible on the DS3? If not, is anyone running a RAID 0 stripe? Any probs?

I use the onboard sound on my DS3 but I hate the Gigabyte sound control panel.
I tried the original Realtek ones and I still get the Gigabyte control panel. Even after a clean format.
wtf?
