It's luck of the draw as far as CPU's are concerned. From everything I've read, the 6300 and 6400 overclock better than the 4mb cache expensive cards. I didn't say the 6300 sucks. What sucks is the multiplier. Working backwords, because of the 7x multiplier, the 6300 is an unwise investment.
Do you think Mercedes Benz owners like terrible reliability of the Mercedes? Chrysler is more reliable than Mercedes but people still buy them. In fact, that goes for every German car. Bad reliabilty does not make the cars bad, just an unwise investment. The same could be said about the CD2, though compleletly reliable is needs the best ram to overclock well.
What's wrong with insulting the ego's of other techno geeks? Buying a 6300 represents a poor economic decision if overclocking is part of your agenda. The young generation of kids 25 years and younger has always been told they are good. Team building exercises are also used to avoid disappointment. If you suck, fix it. I make mistakes all the time. I incorrectly assumed that the Gigabyte F8 bios would correct any problems that previously exisited in F7. This is not the case with F8 and a forum member made me aware of this issue. Now I am running F7 and my memory timings are 4-4-4-12.
Hearing a 6300 user talk about dumping his Gigabyte motherboard for another is absurd. I'm getting 3.2Ghz without doing anything but running the ram at default 800Mhz. Why would anybody want to get another board if forum members and professional reviews say great things about the DS3? I can understand adding a new graphics card and better ram, but why the board?
I have the Thermalright Ultra 120 for a heatpipe. My DS3 would not post. I read every forum and the consensus was to RMA the board. I didn't join MENSA at 13 to give up so easily. Though not a prodigy, I am a genius and better than most. However, I always benefit from the advice and wisdom of others on these forums.
I estimate 25% of the forum members are competent builders of computer systems. I've only RMA'd one product in 5 years building my own computers. This was on the first computer I ever built. I sent back a 9700pro and in hindsight the problem was a motherboard issue.
I sat in my car contemplating starting the engine in the garage and taking a long deep sleep. Making mistakes was never tollerated by my father. He always told me I was a pipe dream and would never amount to sh-it. Only 10-15 more years until I get my well deserved inheritence.
When I insult someone, it's not a life long personal attack. If you're stupid, stop being stupid. If you're unskilled, stop being unskilled. Nothing is ever learned from accepting complacentcy. No matter how much or how little I accomplish in life, I will always feel at some level completely worthless.
Did anybody know that crime rates dropped when legalized abortion was enacted in the 1970's. I have learned that static electricity is the number #1 cause of computer component failure. Learn how to ground yourself before touching anything. If you cannot learn to ground yourself, get a static strap.
On this DS3 board I have banged and dropped many components including slightly dinging a stick of ram. Everything still works perfect.
If you are good, be good. If you are worthless figure out why. If you want to live strong like Lance Armstrong, use drugs, befriend those who helped you and lie about drug use. We live in a world of sliding moral value. We live in a world where ethics are ignored for superior moral standing. Problem is morals by themselves are unethical and therefore a complete waste of time.
This has been a public service announcement for the bettering of the home built computer users.
