BTW: If you want to make cash fast, run the special events, they pay very well. For max cash, try to get bronze time first then run again and get silver time, then go for gold; if you get gold first you can't run again and get more cash, but if you get bronze first, then silver, then gold, it will let you collect for all three. This can be difficult in some of the races, but it's fairly easy in the AMG races at Nurburgring, you can run all out until right before the end and then just sit there until you make the time you need.

If you finish with Gold the first time, your prize awarded is all three places combined.

LOL... now you tell me.... I've been running that whole Nurburgring track and stopping at the finish line to keep from getting silver or gold on first run! Oh well, it's good practice.

i've only had about 5 races in arcade mode and i like what i see so far.

i think the biggest improvement is the physics. driving feel and handling is much improved over GT5p.
graphics have always been great so there's no surprise there. what did surprise me is sound. cars don't all sound like they have buzzy 4 bangers inside them anymore.

the biggest let down is AI. why can't they get this right?

and loading blows. in arcade mode, there's delay when loading the car selection if you scroll 2 pages to the right.
then there's more delay to load the selected car and its info at the main window above.
WTF is up with that?????

Is this still happening in GT5? This was taken from Prologue, and it just looks so goofy compared to the realism of every other aspect of the game.

Anyone else running a G25 or G27?? No cars will idle for me when I am in clutch enabled H shifter mode. Clutch engaged and even in neutral the car dies. Really irritating. How can PD not support these wheels? I pray there is a patch.

The AI still runs like it's on rails. The don't seem to react at all to your driving. Prologue had the same issue. I'm just surprised how little has changed over two years. It's still a good game but feels like a step back for the series.

Haha, just part of the learning process I guess. I only knew this because I remember doing the first kart race and seeing how much first place was, then being surprised when I won so much more. I added up all 3 spots and that's what I was got. Was nice golding the two intermediate kart races and getting $34k in return on each.

No idea, I've yet to turn around and stop on the track. Needless to say, I didn't notice this in GT5P either.

Last one, just for the fun of it. I'm pretty sure this is from GT5:

I own Forza 3 for the Xbox already, but I was always a fan of the GT games. Do you guys think it is worth it to dump Forza and move over to GT? How much better are the graphics and the physics for GT compared to Forza? I never played Forza online, so that's not much of a concern at al.

G27 here and I'm not sure I understand what you mean. everything works fine for me, except you can't stall/re-start the car, but if you do try to apply throttle after you "stall" it (by not giving enough throttle), your engine does nothing - though you do see the throttle gauge go up but your RPM's don't move.

I wasn't even aware there's a "clutch enabled" mode.

what do you mean? the cars bouncing off each other?

Hitting a car with a shopping cart does more damage. Hard to call a game the most realistic driving simulator when they omit any body damage or actual crash physics.

anyone know if I can compare my best times to the times of others? like the time trial mode in Forza?

really stoked to get be getting 1:00.xx's on tsukuba with my mr-s, but I really don't know if that is fast or not compared to others

Also I can't find where to view my trophies

Leaderboards are supposedly being added in a patch soon. Not sure why they weren't included from the start, especially since they were present in GT5P.

that's never been GT's style. they've never allowed a car to just get totalled because of a collision.

I agree, plus it's a bit disingenuous to rag on the collision model by running backwards on a track (or idling in the middle of a racing line) and using that as your proof. The game isn't played that way, period.

What I am talking about is if I am not moving on the track and have the clutch pedal depressed my car will not sit there idling. My car literally stalls. The RPM's drop right to zero. If I push the gas pedal the car revs up (i.e starts) again. I literally have to feather the throttle to keep the engine running. If I change the H shifter to sequential, the car idles fine when using the clutch. There seems to be some sort of compatibility issue.

i'll have to try this when i get a chance. i don't recall this issue.
i remember the clutch/shifter working better than i expected, meaning i could put it in first and let the clutch out slowly and "stall" the car.

what car are you driving?
i remember the clutch not working with the GT-R, perhaps because it's DSG.

They should call it the Real Bumper Car Simulator then.
