Maybe that's why they can get so many cars?Cus no other car games have had licensed cars in them and damage..........
They have damage in this game but only in high levels so is that putting them in bad light?

Time to do what? They don't get the license if they put the manufacturer's car in a bad light.
I'm really enjoying this game. I'm not a big sim racer and the only GT game I played much was the original GT. I just wish this game had more American and European cars. Same Japanese cars from the 90s gets old.
I think the last one pays out 1 million credits and 100,000 XP IIRC. They're really fun...but can be challenging and are ultimately rewarding in turn. Definitely bring new life to a game which, if I'm honest, lacks events in the main career mode...i.e, I would have liked to see more A-spec races and special events. Some of the seasonal events really pay off. I did the Laguna Seca race which requires the Mustang GT and got over 200k credits and enough experience to bump me a couple levels. I'm going to purchase a couple of the other cars and see if they pay off just as well.

Did a couple more of them and made over a million credits and jumped to level 18. I'm only able to get at the most 2nd in the races, but that still more than pays for the car.
just curious do you just run more or less "stock" with the minimal upgrades to get to the limits. or do you actually go in and utne the cars as well (ie suspensions and transmission and the such)
I try to upgrade as much as possible since they payout more than covers the cost. However, the Mustang race was the only one that I could really do anything beyond clutch and flywheel. Using the controller, I need any advantage I can have. I do not bother with tuning as I found that can cause more issues if you don't know what you are doing.
Perfect I use the controller too so thats hwy i was asking. I did the mustang race and best was third (messed up when i was in second place doh) The reward s (xp and cash) make up for having to buy new cars so i dont mind that

Anyone know if you can do the racing mod to the Challenger and still be eligible for the race?
You need to get most of the upgrades available while still staying within specs for HP and weight. I've got all golds on all the bonus races, without some tuning of the car setup I don't think that would be possible. Some of these races are fairly easy and some are real challenges. The payout more than makes up for the price you pay for the cars and upgrades.
I'd be glad to share my setups if it would help anyone. I'm not any kind of expert or particularly great driver, but I won all gold on these using a controller.
id appreciate it
I wont the mini challenge...that was easy. And gotten 2nd on the focus and challenger one. The focus one i think i was like 20 seconds behind first place the challenger one only 4 seconds. RX-7 one i havent even really tried yet other than 1 lap.
Ok, here is how I setup my Focus, keep in mind that this works for me YMMV, you may need to tweak it a little.
For upgrades, get whatever you need to max the hp to the limit allowed, you need the fully custom trans, fully adjustable suspension, and get all the drivetrain upgrades with the exception of the LSD (I got it but just left it at default so I don't think it's necessary).
settings:
ride height -20/-17
Spring rates 6.0/6.8
Dampers ext 4/3
Dampers comp 2/5
ARB 3/5
Camber 3.3/1.5

Trans top speed 130mph
Brake controller 6/7
This race and the R7 race are very hard to get gold. One way to make it a LOT easier is to turn on SRF (skid recovery force), a lot of people consider this cheating, but unless you are using a wheel are a VERY experienced driver, you most likely will need this to gold these two races..... it's your choice as to whether you use it or not. (leave all other aids turned off with the exception of ABS set to 1.
Hope this helps.. I'll get the RX7 settings soon.
awesome ill give it a try when i get home tonight. Hopefully itll at least be a bit closer than when i got just second place im definitely not a "great" driver so i fully take advantage of anything that helps! f course in online racing im totally different and stick to the track
Hope it helps you, if it does I'll give you my setups for the other races.
Can you post your setup for the Mini race? I can't get past 5th on that one. A setup for the NASCAR race would be nice for when I get there too
Well tried out the focus one with your settings. Did better. but still ~8 seconds behind the leader. I mark that up to my skill over anything though. just dont think im quick enough in and out of corners and the such
The mini i actually found really easy.
ps. RX-7 setting pretty please I hate that car so hopefully a good tune is all i need to do better
And i just bought the logitech DFGT wheel. its onsale for $90 at buy.com for anyone interested. it is a rebate and has free shipping. Thought id toss it out there for anyone thinking about a wheel.
