It appears that head tracking only works in arcade mode and not in GT Life mode. Weird.
Where did you see this? If that is indeed true, I am sad.
LOL @ people holding a grudge because of the delay. Way to take a stand, now go out there and do something more useful, like run for cancer or something.
kind of off topic but i have questions about steering wheels. Last time i ever used a steering wheel was back in the PS2 days w/ GT3 i believe. every steering wheel i've used, including games at the arcade would only turn 90 degrees left and 90 degrees right. it really didnt feel like i was "driving a real car" so to say.
I am hopefully assuming that steering wheels nowadays virtually replicate the full movement that a car steering wheel has? such as the latest logitech G27 steering wheel?
my biggest turn off to realistic driving simulators was the steering wheel thing, so i always just tended to play arcadey games like NFS underground w/ my keyboard and skip the realness or driving sim genre altogether. I hope things are different now, are they?
I just realized something... I still have to buy the PS Eye - ugh, more money.
Head tracking FTW !
That's exactly what I'm referring to, but it's not that I've lost interest in it, just that I have no intention on giving anyone money for a product that was announced, then delayed 4 years. If I ever feel the need to buy it, I'll get it second hand so that my money ends up in the hands of the buyer not the production company.
what does head tracking do?
if you turn your head too much, you're no longer looking at the screen. i don't get this "feature".

My issues exactly.. only useful if I had 3 screens.
I apparently have not realized how difficult such a feature is to describe to someone without visual evidence.
You don't "turn your head", you only pivot your head an inch or two - enough to let a camera detect said movement, but not enough to force your eyes off the screen.
Try this - keep your eyes fixated on one spot on your screen. Now, pivot your skull an inch or two, but keep your eyes fixed on that same point.
Is this that difficult? Your eyes never leave the screen, but that brief movement of your head is enough to create a larger movement on screen.
No head-tracking software, on any platform, has ever required so much movement that your eyes are then no longer on the screen. Considering that is counterproductive, I don't get why anyone thinks that is necessary.
so you'd rather pay the same amount of money for a less polished product.
gotcha.
What sucks is that I'm hosting Thanksgiving this year so I have to prepare instead of playing GT5. Family will probably stay until Friday afternoon or Sat. Hopefully they enjoy racing too.
When is Thanks Giving, and when does GT5 come out? I'm confused I thought it was out...
Thanksgiving is the 25th.. GT5 is released the 24th. I'm out of town Friday through Sunday.. so I'll play my heart out after work until I gotta go to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner.
