Has anybody here gotten all gold on the license tests with only the DS3?

I am trying! Gold on A and B so far. Silvers in International C. Working on gold there next. Definitely getting a tad more difficult to get gold.

I'm ready to test some online if anybody is down for it. I bought the PS3 bluetooth headset and haven't even used it yet. I'm not that great but would love to run a few laps with some people and just have some fun. Somebody set up a time in the coming days and let's see who all we can get to show up.

Yeah.

The ghost car feature really helps a lot...same with the examples--they give a really good starting point. Worse comes to worse, there's tons of Youtube clips up that can give you ideas for driving lines and strategies.

Additionally, take a look at your ABS and traction control settings...oftentimes, they're the difference between gold and silver. For me, I have them both set to "1"...just enough to keep the car in-check (as long as your mindful of your braking/acceleration technique), but low enough to let the car drift and slide for quicker cornering.

Side note: this game is fantastic. Not flawless, but honestly...I haven't found anything worth complaining about. MAYBE the "glue" effect that happens when you rear-end an AI opponent and become seemingly stuck to them until you brake--but still, not *really* a game issue...I just shouldn't be ramming other cars.

I have given up playing online. It still won't connect. Evey other game works fine except this shit, pisses me off.

Also I think they should add some type of reward system where if you have a clean race (no going off track, no hitting other cars), following racing line...ect, you'll get more credits added to the prize money. Atleast this will give you something to focus on if you're just leaving the AI in the dust.

I think you get an additional B Spec driver at lv5.. then another at lv10.. and so on? I just hit level 10 recently and have slots for 3 drivers.

I dont know what it is, but I just cant manage to get gold/silver on some of the challenges. Im starting to feel like I need a wheel because the controller just isnt accurate/smooth enough

Either that or start adjusting some of the assists it lets you fiddle with. Stuff like traction control and SFR slows you down ever so slightly, at least from what I read. Even then, you have to be a complete pro to manage all golds on the later tests.

Do you use the analog stick or the regular D-pad? I find the pad to be much, much more accurate and more sensitive to minute adjustments on the fly.

I still use skid recovery force (on most cars). Traction control is usually off because i have no problem controlling throttle/wheelspin.

Honestly i just find it frustrating that the AI consistently cuts you off, or randomly dives into a corner. Thus hitting me and causing a "disqualification"

I use the analog stick. I'll give the d-pad a try for sure

Yes, but the new ones are expensive and the used ones are hard to find due to the random used car lot (and still expensive). Would take a lot of playtime to get into one unless you can find somebody who is nice to gift you one (good luck with that ).

Looks like a few territories got the awaited gran-turismo.com facelift that shows you your profile, picture gallery, message board, log, friend list, etc. Not currently up for US site at the moment, but US players can sign into the Hong Kong site, since it is in English. Just head to http://www.gran-turismo.com and choose the Hong Kong site, the login button is in the upper-right.

Looks pretty awesome, it's basically the interface that's in the game transported to the web. The best part is no more flash drive to get pictures, they can just be uploaded. A couple of pics I've taken that I've not bothered getting to my PC:

i have the same nickname on the PS3, so add me or whatever it is you do on there (new to PS3, just got it a couple days ago)

I don't really think race night is going to work for GT5 since there is no PI and no real way to make the cars even.

Could possibly limit it to a predetermined weight and HP.

Although that'll suck if the car you intend to use is a few kg too heavy since none of the weight modifications are removable.
