Because EVGA has a lifetime warranty on these, and they don't care if you fry your card because of overclocking, or if you put on an aftermarket heatsink, etc.

The only issue I have is that it has One fan whereas a couple of the others have dual. I'd like to see the cooling on the EVGA vs. Others

As an example, my 260 that I bought in July 2008 is having fan problems. I filled out a support ticket telling them about it, and the first reply was them telling me to go ahead and RMA. 3 and a half years later, no questions asked. That's why I choose them.

Yup, and I'm sure the EVGA fans are more than competent; if for some odd reason they're not and something happens you can always get a new one, free of charge. :biggrin:

Asus has a 3 year warranty. In 3 years the card is going to be slow as crap anyway but enjoy your lifetime warranty and your horrible reference cooler. I look forward to all the EVGA guys asking why there cards can't achieve the overclocks of all the other cards with non reference cooling.

Have you seen the cooler on the card? Do you actually think its going to run hot overclocked?

You buy a 560 to overclock the hell out of to match a 570 which means you go with the one with the best cooler. Direct CU II and Twin Frozr II have the best coolers. TFII cooler has been proven time and time again to be amazing.

DirectCU II is a brand new cooler design but by looking at the card itself it looks amazing.

I was looking at some posts, i believe they were yours, but they showed a significant cooling from the FrozrII to reference cards.

If your going to overclock why would you even consider Reference cooling over the DirectCU II for the same money?

3 year warranty vs Lifetime. How long do you really need it? In 3 years it's going to be obsolete

Review was with the "TOP" model. Top just has a different bios at 900 compared to the DirectCU's 830

I have read reviews stating that the FrozrII (not for GTX560) is slightly worse or same as the reference cooler. Won't know if it better till it's tested.

Looks like AMD timed their HD6950 1GB NDA to coincide with the GTX560, based on the post just up now on AT.
Hopefully most sites will have managed to benchmark both cards and offer comparisons between them.

As some have observed, this healthy competition is really good for gamers everywhere - there so much power out there at good prices because of it.

As of this typing, Newegg has this up http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-074-_-Product

...though it's listed as "deactivated" right this moment.

I don't mean to rag on the 6000 series, it just seems like Nvidia was trying to steal the thunder and so far they've managed exactly that. Even more so with the prospect of 1ghz GTX560s...sweet.

Personally, I'm waiting to see what Crysis 2 will be like before replacing my HD 4870.
