My gamecrazy wouldn't even let me fully prepay, so I guess they won't have two lines. they only had about 100 preorders so it'll be interesting to see how many of them show at midnight.

I have no idea, as I've actually wondered that myself. If you head to EBGames, they have a listing of the stores that will open at midnight to sell copies of the game. One of my local EBGames is in a mall, and it's listed, so somehow they plan on doing this. Seems like there was a game in the past couple of years where they did a midnight release party all over (Vice City perhaps?), and the EB in the mall ended up not opening.

We'll see I guess.

ok I asked my friend... he works there... they'll open at midnight for a couple hours... I'll just pick it up early Tuesday since I won't be playing it Monday after midnight anyway...

The local Gamestop is closing at 9pm tonight, and will spend the next three hours setting up for the midnight launch. They'll be open from Midnight-1:00 to start handing them out.

They are going to have free pizza and hot chocolate for the people standing in line. And many of the local retailers will be peddling their goods at "special Halo launch" prices. Should be fun!

Of the four Bestbuy locations in my area, only one is advertising a Halo 2 launch party (Bellevue, WA). They said they would be giving away an XBOX in the 20-30 minutes before the midnight launch. I guess they're expecting lots of people.

I didn't pre-order, but I expect that there will be a few (non-collectors edition) left tomorrow at 10AM.

I've played Halo 2! Some kid here at school got a copy, another kid burned it and loaded it up in his modded xbox so we could play linked. It's WAY different but it's gonna be a sweet game. Can't wait to get mine(hopefully tonight at midnight)!!!!!!!!!

BAH... I got a call on my cell from an 817 area code (I'm nowhere near Texas) and it was an automated message... "Hello... this is Gamestop... Halo .." (click)... I lost the damned signal.

I wonder if it was just a reminder about it being released today or something specific to my pre-order. Since it was automated... I can't find out what's up... tried calling the number and get a fast-busy. !@*($&(!@$@!$

Anyone else get a call ?

But I'll say it anyway...

I've had more fun with Halo on the Xbox over the last three years, than any other game... Ever. And yes, that includes the PC as well.

When I get together with friends to play PC games on my LAN, the game we play most often is Halo.

if they are selling it at Gamestop in 4 hours i will DEFINITLY pick it up the Halo 1 soundtrack is hands down the best video game soundtrack EVER

Still deciding if I want to go get it. I'd go if I knew I could just pick it up and leave, but I don't want to head 20 minutes one way on a work night that late if I will be waiting for an hour. Not worth it when I can just pick it up tomorrow afternoon during my lunch break.

I read your previous posts. Gotta work early,hrm, if you decide to go pick it up maybe you should just consider calling in sick, ordering in some pizza and making a day of it.

Look at it this way, if you go pick it up tonight, you know you'll be playing all night. This will pretty much make you tried and useless at work (depending on what you do I guess). Might as well stay at home and be useless to work, but playing H2.

I could call in, but I have this thing about calling in to work, I just can't do it. I feel so guilty for some reason if I don't work when I know I can. Just last Tuesday, as a matter of fact, was the first time I didn't work the full day in the year and a half I've been at my current job. I was pretty sick (first time I've thrown up in YEARS, I'm talking maybe since I was in first grade), and even then, I still came into work. They made me go home after only being there 20 minutes .

If I was to get the game, come back home and play till 2am, and immediately go to sleep, I'll still get a little over 5 hours of sleep. Yes, I'll be tired, but I'll still be funcational. Still don't know if I'll go though. I'm a gamer, but it's not my type of crowd. Plus, I'll be by myself .

Well, I also pre-ordered it there, and fully paid it. Im going at 12 o clock to pick it up tonight. Technically it's Tuesday though. There was this HUGE box of H2's there (about 20" x 10" x 3") all full of H2's.

My friend got a call like that. Yes, it was to inform him that the Gamestop will be open at 12 to pickup Halo 2. The Gamestop is in a mall so I guess they'll just have the mall doors open so people can head to Gamestop. By the way, this is in 818 area code (in California), but I think your Gamestop should be open also since he got a call like yours.
