Had you played any other Halo game before? The controls are the exact same as Halo 3, and I believe an option equal to Halo 2 (with RB/LB functioning as black / white buttons).

I'm definately down for some co-op and firefight playin. I'm not the best Halo player but I just like the team focused environment. Got an email from Amazon sayin my copy shipped @ 5am so I should get it on thursday!

Yes, seams like its having frame rate problems.

I am also getting a few odd glitches. I just had to totally restart a level because it saved just as a fuel tank was about to explode. Every time I spawned, I died, and could not get away from it.

I'm getting lots of frame rate drops myself and that's with the game installed.

Glad to see I'm not the only one. It's pretty disorienting at times. And then there are other cut scenes that run flawlessly.

well so far I'm LOVING the multiplayer maps.

love the remake of ivory tower, love the remake of sanctuary, there is one that kind of reminds me of the pit on halo 3 but has a few levels ... love that map. there is a midship type of map ... awesome. and there was this one that reminded me of a halo:ce map where it is like 3 levels high with walkways goign between some of the levels.

so far i'm really liking the multi maps.

haven't played single player at all yet heh.

Kinda disappointing that THE flagship franchise of the Xbox is not absolutely pristine. I can make do, but when the motion blur occurs ... damn it's annoying.

I'm kinda confused how melee works now. As it appears, it almost always takes two hits to kill some one. One hit strips their armor and the other kills them. Well, maybe I'm not so confused, I just wish it was more like Halo 3.

I don't think I'll be using melee nearly as much. :\

If they have shields, whether it is 100% or 10%, it removes it. It kills them if they have no shields, from what I experienced last night.

Started off playing co-op campaign with a buddy on Hardened. Neither of us are "Halo guys" so we weren't very good but it was worth lots of laughs. The best part was at the start when I snuck up behind him and melee'd him, and he starts spinning around trying to find who shot him. I think I did it 3 times before he finally caught on.

Two questions for the campaign though, where did mission 1 go and what's up with the space ostriches?

Switched up to Firefight next and met up with Dronut and a few other friends. The mode is a good bit of fun and I like the customization available in the actual firefight lobby games, but the downside is that you get NO credits for them. I played a custom game by myself and I think I went for around 45 minutes (and 28,000 game points) before I killed myself from boredom...and netted 60 Cr points. On a 10 minute matchmaking firefight game I netted 1300 Cr points.

I played two rounds of matchmaking firefight before work today, one I had nearly 11000 game points (the next highest guy had less than 5K), the other I had around 9K and the next highest had under 4K. What's odd though is that while those are the best in-game scores I've had I didn't get nearly as many Cr's as I did playing with a party of friends last night when my score was alot lower...I think one game this morning I got 700 Cr and the other 400 Cr, yet my game yesterday where I had maybe 4200 game points netted me 1300 Cr.

The matchmaking version does seem a bit too easy on some maps, especially Rocketfight games. I wish you could vote to jack up the difficulty or add skulls or something. Oh, and the night-time waterfront map is ridiculous with the snipers waaaaaaaay up on the hill that keep pelting you

I only played one competitive matchmaking game last (lone wolves game) and it ended up being zombie mode. I actually did really well, I think I came in 3rd. A few issues though, it was a map where the humans spawn on a little sky bridge area and the zombies have to assault, if you're a zombie and you "dash" about 50% of the time you go flying off the entire structure and die. I think I was only killed 4 times or so in the actual game but I fell off maybe 3 more.

Not a big fan of the zombie mode myself...

Overall though I'm pleasantly surprised with the game thus far. I haven't gotten much into the campaign but the Firefight mode is quite a bit of fun. Weapons do have crazy balance issues, the assault rifle is neigh worthless.

Oh, and what the heck is that orbital rocket strike thing? I got 2x killionaires in a single firefight game with that thing...woefully overpowered!

They patched Halo 3 so installing didn't slow down load times. It was patched around the time they starting selling in on demand.

It takes two hits no matter what to kill someone. In Swat, it still takes two hits. This takes a lot of getting used to (meaning mashing the melee button as fast as you can). It is kind of lame and takes getting used to. In order to kill someone with a melee, you have to fully down their shields and take like a bar or so of health.

I just got done playing Halo 3. The controls on reach are different; lol, the first lvl was annoying, I was trying to melee grunts, and couldn't figure out where the melee button was. I'm using the recon config now. They moved the melee, and the reload/action buttons.

Maybe for default, but Boxer and Bumper Jumper are the exact same I believe.

So far the first couple missions are awesome. The game play is magical. Legendary is LEGIT! The drop ships are a fucking nuisance. Run and fucking hide is all i can say.

Same frame rate issues at the initial cut scenes. Others run fine. minor issue on the grand scheme of things. Haven't seen if its different in solo campaign mode. I've only played co-op.

Anyone half way decent (ie doesn't go -15+ a match) down for some Arena Team? I found I can't play the Doubles Arena because your rating is crazy low when the other team quits after you get a killing spree...

I didn't even get a chance to play last night but hopefully I will tonight. I added a couple of people from AT so I'm looking forward to playing with you guys.

As far as single player, is the hardest difficulty unlocked at the beginning? I think I'm going to go straight to the hardest setting.
