I managed to complete the weekly challenge against a team where half the guys weren't playing. I also was able get the five multikills. I never thought I'd be able to get 30 kills in one game so I'm pretty happy about that.

Man, I may have been on the opposing team. Was playing Big Team Battle yesterday where my team got slaughtered. I was on a random team and I swear I was the only person playing the damn game. Everyone else was afk or something. I eventually left of course.

I beat the game on Normal last night, total time was around 7.5 to 8 hours (left it paused the other day for over an hour, so I can't tell the exact time). I wasn't impressed with it overall, but I think I was expecting more after reading reviews about how it was the best Halo campaign ever.

The one thing I did love is how
the game ends by leading directly into the start of Halo:CE. I'm not the best person to ask about Halo lore, but I do know that Cortana is one of the main catalysts in the Halo world in saving the human race, so it was cool to be the one to basically deliver Cortana to Master Chief (by way of Keyes).

Other than that, I wasn't really impressed with anything. The story of Halo is pretty good, but I think Bungie is horrible at telling it. I don't know if it's just how they tell the story or they just don't give enough detail, but I've always found that when I finish a Halo game, I'm really not 100% on what I just did or what all happened. There's just something about how it's presented that it doesn't immediately click with me. I've heard this complaint from others before, so I'm not the only one.

Also, I agree with what was said earlier in this thread about the lameness of the Noble team being picked off one by one. There wasn't much, if any weight behind their deaths. I didn't really find myself caring because I didn't have much of an attachment to them. Bungie needs to build those relationships if they want the player to feel a connection, just being their teammate isn't enough. I didn't care when the girl got sniped, I didn't really much care when the guy flew into the big spider thing, and I didn't really care when dude got killed by elites up on the big gun on the last mission.

I also didn't care for the mission after the credits. I should note that I already knew that was coming, as I had read about it beforehand. But after playing through everything, what exactly was the reason that he didn't board the Pillar of Autumn with Keyes? Seems stupid to stay behind after we're told a couple of times that the fall of Reach was inevitable. Given that he purposefully made the decision to stay behind knowing death was imminent (or at least he should have known), I just didn't find myself caring.

I do have one question about the Reach storyline as a whole. The ultimate end game was getting Cortana to Keyes so they could get off Reach and lead the Covenant away from Earth. Was Cortana even mentioned early in the game? I seem to remember the first mention of her was in the 8th or 9th mission. Looking back on all the missions, the entire story just seems disjointed. I like working towards an end-goal from the beginning, but it seems like Reach is just mini-stories that happened to end with Cortana and Keyes.

Oh well, enough bitching about the story . Overall, it's really more Halo, nothing has really changed. The game looks great and plays perfectly.

Six couldn't hop on the shuttle to the Pillar of Autumn because Emile died at the railgun. The railgun was needed to shoot down the Covenant Corvette that was bearing down on the Autumn.

The whole storyline wasn't about Cortana, it was about the fall of Reach. Starting on how the Covenant established a foothold on Reach to how the entire invasion panned out. Cortana was just part of the ending to link it to the main Halo Series.

In response to peritusONE:

You pick Cortana up at the end of the 9th mission which is why you didn't hear about her before; Noble team didn't know about her. Also, the information which uncovered her was found towards the beginning of the game (before you meet Dr. Halsey) so in between the time you meet Dr. Halsey and the end of the 9th mission she has been working trying to figure out what this discovery was that was contained on the data chip you found.

Noble 6 stayed behind because the Pillar of Autumn needed cover to make it off the planet. There was a Covenant ship nearby that would have destroyed it if Noble 6 didn't take it out.

My biggest problem with the game is I could only understand about 50% of what came out of Kat's mouth. I had a lot of problem with Jun too, especially over the radio.

Yeah, that's right. For some reason I had those events mixed up in my head.

OK, so it seems I was too focused on the ending then to see the big picture.
I guess it just felt like Cortana was too important and maybe should have been the basis of the story.
Instead, to me, it all felt a bit disjointed. Too short of a game to try and cover as much ground as they did. Or maybe I just don't have the appreciation needed for the story.

Yeah, I wish it was longer and the game wasn't as epic as I had expected, due to all the hype. Wished there was big battles we were able to participate in, army group vs army group, multiple tanks fighting each other, etc. Even that mission in the commercial, that would've been cool too. I guess Bungie just took out important bookmarks of Noble Team and slotted it into the game.

That makes a bit more sense. I do remember that cut-scene early in the game, but I didn't really glean any information from it. There's just something about Bungie storytelling that I can't ever piece it together. Some people say it's all laid right in front of you, but I guess I need things explained better. But then again, I understood MGS4's story perfectly fine (well, mostly fine).

Beat campaign on legendary

It's nice of microsoft to completely FUCK your game progress if you get disconnected from live for any reason before going through a formal save/quit. heh. Had to rebeat the last level twice. Overall pretty blah imo.

Is it just me or does it seem that I'm always getting kicked for FF when I'm pwning in a match.

So, I've been kicked twice. Once in a sniper battle where I was 14-3. It was 3v4, and we were pwning them. I accidentally shoot a teammate, and he kicks me. Last night I was 8-0. Saved the guy's life by killing an enemy that was behind him, a few bullets hit him from my gun as well and I'm kicked again. WTF. Maybe I should have my mic on to apologize.

BTW, I usually suck at Halo, which is why I was pissed to get kicked from these matches.

Must've been your second betrayal in each game. I've accidentally killed a friend in matchmaking before and if it's the first betrayal, they don't get the option to boot you.

It doesn't normally matter if you apologize, people are dicks and will kick you no matter what, even if it makes them down a man.

I've found the opposite to be true. Most of the time if I'm like "OSHIT MY BAD" i'm never kicked.

He should have his mic on anyways since it is a team game.

Easy daily challenges today:

-Kill 150 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking (1500)
-Kill 200 enemies in FF MM with headshots (2000)
-Score 20,000 points in a single FF MM Game (2500)
-Comlete a FF MM game without dying (1000)

2x Gruntpocalypse and 1 Sniper Attack = lots of creds for me (I can't get many headshots on Sniperfight).

I finally broke my Reach multiplayer cherry last night and played a few matches. Most of those were teaming up with Kabob on multi-team matchmaking. Probably not the best idea to start out with, since it absolutely killed my k/d ratio to begin my Reach career, but still had a lot of fun. Kabob picked up my slack quite a bit and we finished high in each of the 3 matches we played (one headhunter and two elite slayer). In past Halo games, I'm typically a team slayer kind of player.

Overall, Reach just feels faster than previous Halo games, but that may just be that I've not played Halo in quite some time. I had a lot of fun though and tried to help Kabob get a few more kills by luring people to him. It actually worked a couple of times I think, but it's not like he needs my help. Those two elite slayer matches were on Reflection, so to succeed in a close-quarters match with 80% of the people in there trying to kill you is hard to do in the first place.

My gamertag is the same as here, peritusONE, so if anyone wants to add me, feel free. I don't mind getting game invite requests if you see me playing Reach, but I don't usually quit out of games I'm already in just out of principle. Don't wait on me and continue onward, and once I'm done with my match, I'll wait on you to get done if I'm wanting to join.

That is 2 Gruntpocalypse for all but the 20,000 points one. I've never tried sniperfight, but if the points are more, I might check it out.

Twaz great to game with ya! You'll get better, being away from a game for so long is going to make you rusty. Multi-team is my favorite game type, it's extremely chaotic which lends itself well to my play style, I dont' do as well in Team Slayer usually.

And I don't usually do that well with the sword, I've had 8 Sword Spree's in my Reach career, 3 of those I got last night whilst playing with you.

Yeah, I got the first 3 in the Gruntpacolypse games, Sniper Fight on any map though is over 20K points. Best map (for me) for Sniper Fight is Courtyard.

I will have to check sniper fight out tonight then for the easy points. I have gotten extremely good on Corvette Gruntpacolypse. I almost always finish with 0 deaths and over 115 headshots.

Also, is Multi Team Swat still in that playlist?

Sniper Attack is where it's at. Sniperfight is fun also.

The last Sniperfight match I played went on until time expired, which I don't remember happening before. We essentially played three rounds plus a bonus round in one match.

Yeah, Corvette is probably the easiest map to live through, followed by Outpost.

I dunno if SWAT is still in Multi-team or if they took it out...I sure hope so though. I'm getting tired of Elite Slayer in there.

Haven't seen Multi-Team SWAT since I started grinding it for kills. Only Slayer, Elite Slayer, Rocket Race, Oddball, and Crazy King.

I haven't seen it since before the Team Swat playlist update. They probably removed it, which is sad because you could easily rack up multi kills with it.

I will probably end up playing tonight and taking a break from New Vegas.

I believe they took it out and made a separate SWAT playlist. I was going to join you and peritus yesterday but saw you guys were playing multi-team and I was only on for a handful of games.

Peritus, you were blurredvision right? I remember playing rocket race with you in Halo 3

Gah, I get torn up in sniper attack, but that's probably because I'm terrible with the sniper rifle.

I keep getting to 18k points, yet I can't pass that barrier (yet).
