Peritus, you were blurredvision right? I remember playing rocket race with you in Halo 3

Yep, that's me. Changed from blurredvision to peritus almost a couple of years ago now. I absolutely LOVED rocket race, and I wasn't too shabby at driving either. It's so hectic and hilarious, especially when you're playing with people you know. Watching one of your friends just barely beat you to a marker induces rage and laughter at the same time.

Pimp, are you still on my friends list? I purged it long ago after it got up to like 75 people, of which 65 I never played with or even knew. I only kept the people I immediately recognized from the forum, like purbeast and blackflag. I've just quit my year-long obsession with WoW (for good), so I'm back to console gaming a lot and could use a larger friends list again.

It seems like nobody uses mics in this game anymore

Nobody uses mics because there is really no incentive to win anymore. In the previous Halos winning and lose impacted your rank. Without a system such as that, people only care about how well they do and not the team itself. Arena is plagued with "betrayers" and extremely selfish people, not to mention quitters galore. They really need to rethink this ranking system or Black Ops will kill the player base. I think Halo 3 still has more players online than Reach now.

haha, I do remember your awesome driving skills.

I don't think I have you on my list anymore. My gamertag is pLmpjuice so feel free to send invite and I'll do the same if I see you.

I should purge my list too, lots of people I don't recognize anymore.

Whatever there new "penalties" are for betraying and quitting it isn't doing anything to deter. Its as frequent or moreso than Halo 3. They need to tighten that up. Make the punishment for severe. Start docking credits and busting down ranks

The betrayals in Arena are complete BS. If I get the rockets and someone on the other team wounds me, my teammate will finish me off and pick them up. There is no real incentive to win, so nobody plays as a team. I can't stand the lack of teamplay in a team game. They have effectively cut down all the boosters and cheaters by making the game worthless to play.

They need to bring back the H2 ranking system for ranked games. They can easily tweak it to make it much better. This new system is beyond broken.

Gah, I get torn up in sniper attack, but that's probably because I'm terrible with the sniper rifle.

I keep getting to 18k points, yet I can't pass that barrier (yet).

I'm awful with the sniper rifle but I've didn't think you could get under 20K points if you killed all the enemies. My favorite strategy is to go to Courtyard and when you spawn run straight across the bridge and turn right. Go down near the end and camp (bring Drop Shield with ya). With the exception of the Jackals and jetpacking Elites, all the enemies have to run to the other end to the ramp to reach you, giving you plenty of time to kill them.

I too remember a blurredvision. What's with the rename?

i purge prolly every 3 months.. the list get out of controll.

Sweet, that means I've made the cut a ton of times!

Well, I guess I was 28 when I changed it a couple years ago. I had been using "blurredvision" as my internet handle since I was 18 and I guess I felt like I wanted a change after 10 years. In hindsight, I probably should've just stuck with it, but this "new" one has grown on me I guess. I still go by my old name on GAF and PSN, though.

I actually considered recently on switching back, but I'm not going to request another name change on here. Plus, Microsoft won't release canceled gamertags from the graveyard, so I'd have to come up with a number to stick on the end of it for Live.

Ahh, makes sense. There's a guy on AVS who created an XBL account years ago that he forgot the password to (and the email account expired), so he had to make a new one and just tacked a "17" on the end of it. He's mentioned how impossible it is to get MS to get rid of that old account so he can change his name back.

Yeah, I've been using Kabob since High School, maybe 9-10 years. I'm with you, Kabob is taken on 95% of big sites, so I typically stick a "983" on the end of it.

if your going to play with randoms dont play arena.. ive never had an issue in arena with people from here or avs.

Absolutely, Arena is great if you have a good team. They don't even have to be good at the game, but if they communicate and aren't arses you'll A) do better and B) have alot more fun.

I've found the opposite to be true. Most of the time if I'm like "OSHIT MY BAD" i'm never kicked.

He should have his mic on anyways since it is a team game.

I usually rock a mic if I'm playing with friends and such, but I usually can't stand most dicks in random matches. Thank god for team parties or should I say...thank XBL.

There is a setting in options that lets you set voice to "teammates and parties only". I have it turned on and now I don't have to listen to the other team at all and I don't have to be in a party to do it. If someone on MY team is obnoxious, I can just mute them. In previous Halos, you had to create a party and send invites to randoms every game if you didn't have a full party.

Lots of fun last night. I'm still laughing at how those guys kept jetpacking up to you over and over on Asylum(?).

It was on the newer forge map ATOM. And yes that was hilarious I could just hear them raging next to each other on the couch. "WE GOTTA KILL THAT FUCKER!" lol killing frenzy ++ Meanwhile Spades is just running around hammering the shit outta them. So good. It was like 34 to 4 at one point.

definitely some good rippage though. We had a pretty decent record in team slayer.

I never have any problems when I play with friends, but we just go for fun. I don't play enough to get a division now (and the quitters delude the division enough it is meaningless). Quitting 30-40% of your games, staying only for those you are doing well in, will get you Onyx league.

I wanted to join you guys, but I just got on long enough to complete the firefight challenges. Had to get to bed for work. Work ruins everything.
