Official Halo Reach thread

If you are gonna check out the Halo books, be prepared to take a while. There are a bunch. I have most of them, even the short story collection. They do shed some light on the back story of Halo and all the things going on throughout the was against the Covenant.

Sounds like the campaign may be a bit on the long side. Looks like an awesome game.

i suppose i should start playing ODST and Halo 3 on legendary again to get back into the groove

I could never get into the ODST campaign, I thought it was just awful (and dark). I probably should play through the Halo 3 campaign one more time though.

ODST wasn't bad, it just was real scattered because of the open world. For shooters, I like a linear story. And I never got used to using the Visor mode, I would hit the X button during the daytime stuff and nearly go blind.

i liked ODST a lot campaign wise honestly. it was very short too, especially considering like 1/2 of the game is played in the 'hub' where you are going around trying to figure out what happened, before you get into the better missions.

it wasn't really opened world though, it had an order (i believe) that you had to go in the hub in order to get t othe next events in the story.

i beat it in 2 sittings ... long sittings though.

i liked ODST but yea it did have a very different feel to it, it did however have some annoyingly hard parts on legendary. 3 on legendary isnt bad, 2 IMO still takes the cake for stupid difficulty on legendary, actually it was just that 1st level, getting off the space station thing where the cov fly in drop pods was for me 10x more difficult then the entire rest of the game. Even that annoying as hell sniper level.

Yeah purbeast, it was linear at the beginning, but after the 3-4 mission, you had several points you could go to. Overall, I enjoyed my time on it. I would probably had played it more had they made Firefight matchmaking so I could play with random people since all my friends are die hard COD fanboys that bash anything with the Halo name on it.

prayers will be answered with extremely customizable firefight with matchmaking integration in Reach. This will be the last shooter you will ever need.

The only Halo game I've really played (and owned) was Halo 3. I'm really looking forward to playing Reach for some reason though. Hmm...

There are very few games that I look forward too, and this is one of them. I am still more amped for Gears 3 to be honest, but that is just because more of my friends play Gears.

Yea seriously. I am less than pleased with the build quality of those machines. If my other machines from Sony and Nintendo were dying I would think it was something I was doing. heh
