Each day, the top 3 ratings you received are averaged for that days rating. After 7 days of ratings you are given a division. I am not sure how the divisions are done because I am not in one yet (will be today) and I've played against gold division players as well as bronze. Basically, if you play long enough to have 3 great games, you get a higher division. If you play 3-4 "warm up games" and do poorly, you get a lower division. The first 3 days I was rated, I was well over 1650, but at least two days in this season I have only played 3-4 games and averaged like 1400. Who knows what division I'll get after I play my matches today.

Not sure yet, I think in the division it's essentially a like a pro sport, compete a certain amount of times and if you do well enough you play the finals games and such. Just guessing though.

sorry but a hardcore MW2 player complaining about camping in a Halo game makes me lol a tad

Deja Vu. We won a CTF match the other night on hemorrhage where several members of the other team were screaming at us about camping and other pathetic whining during the game and afterwards in the lobby. They were pretty ticked, and being competitive players we don't like being accused of playing cheap and argued back afterwards.

At most we had one guy rotating out dedicated to defense while the rest of the team was out causing trouble. This isn't the NBA with a 3-second rule. Like most players who complain after losing a CTF, it's mostly because they lack team skills. Unlike earlier Halo versions where you would get a one flag lead and then park your entire team in red base with shotties and then ride out the clock Reach is far more balanced. Team work more than ever trumps brute force tactics or having one or two sniper-gods. In that respect Reach has evolved in the right direction

What blows my mind is that after 9 whole years doing Halo games, Bungie STILL cannot write proper team AI to save their lives.

What blows my mind is after nine years people still take Halo campaign mode seriously. I don't care what the reviews say; the campaign in Reach is amongst the worst I've played in recent years and feels like a graphical face-lift of Halo 2. It's repetitive, moronic, the AI is wretched, the enemy tactics never change, and the maps feel like a battle at the local mall or miniature golf course. Zero back story - the Covenant are bad guys - shoot them.

The worst thing is that enemy units in the campaign move entirely different than human players. Covenant units move in quick spurts, sprints and right angles that don't reflect the motion of regular players, so it screws up your timing when you go against human opponents. I simply don't get how the Campaign gets all this hype compared to well polished games like GoW, or even BioShock. Multiplayer vs is superb and makes up for this, but people who rave about the campaign obviously don't play other games or are in 7th grade.

Saw your invites last night, a buddy and I were playing Firefight though. Hopefully we can party up with you guys and run some more Slayer this week.

What is it and is it legit? If it's some custom thing, I'd be a little wary using whatever it is. (Can't access site from work)

So, I spent over an hour last night trying to get the "assassinate an elite from a jump that would have killed you" achievement...this has got to be the most frusterating achievement ever. I could get the assassination, but no achievement.

Absolute BS.

Then I decided to try it just oooooone more time before work. After all that pain I got it on my first try...stupid achievement...

No issues at all, we were looking for a 4th for our Team Arena, after I sent the invite I noticed you had 2 in your party. That's alright though, Cuda stepped up to help out, thanks bro!!

First, look at the website. It's from Bungie.net. It's a custom firefight setup, click the link and it downloads from bungie.net's File Share to your console. Completely 100% legit. It's just like downloading your buddy's video from his fileshare or whatever.

And on another note, Bungie.net is finally showing a correct render for my character as well:

It's had the default render for the past week.

Did you try the achievement on the later level where you jump off the cliff? I was watching a video of this online and they mentioned that you should make sure to disable your sprint loadout prior to assassinating the elite as the kill must be from a free fall state.

Trust me, I tried every method in the book and I killed my sprint every time. It's just REALLY buggy.

On another note, on our first game of Arena last night I had my best match ever, 23-3 on Asylum.

Doesn't mean it is 100% legit, there was stuff shared in the past on Halo 3 that ended up getting people banned.

As for the Elite assassination achievement, I'm also having it bug out on me every time. I've done the assassination attempt so many times it's kinda sad, and all three kinds too. The stomp on his head, the cut his throat with a knife, I even had one where I somehow grabbed its leg but no achievement. Did you do something different with the attempt that got you the achievement?

Then they're going to be banning 200,000+ people because it's been downloaded like crazy (and there's about 20 versions of the same map).

All it does is change the waves so that every wave is golden Elites and the bonus round is mass elites (you get around 350,000 points per bonus round). It's nothing you can't do yourself in the game settings.

As for how I got the achievement I've no clue, I did it identically do how I've done it hundreds (literally) of times before. As mentioned above make sure you're not still sprinting, in fact, stop sprinting not long after you're off the cliff so you free-fall for a while.

Yeah, I've stopped sprint every time, either manually with the left bumper or just by moving backwards in the air which also stops sprint. Guess I'll just do it some more when I'm bored and hope to win the achievement slot machine.

Also, feel free to add me when you guys need a fourth, gamertag is DrunkenSano. I'm only a bronze league player as a FYI.

You've got to be kidding me. Halo has never been one of my favorite shooters but the AI is good. Better than GoW and Bioshock certainly. If you are playing on normal this doesn't really apply though. On heroic and above they'll change tactics and do some really cool things that you don't routinely see from shooter AI.

So, 3 days with 1650+ rating and 3 days with 1500 rating nets you iron league... And I bet my doubles will be iron as well because having most games not make it to 10 before the other team quits out nets like a 1200 rating per game. Wow, this system is stupid. Won 4 doubles games last night with a friend and died once out of all 4.

thats true but even on legendary they cant drive the warthog for shit

In SP you are far better off driving the Warthog yourself and letting the normal Marine or other ODST shoot. I've died far too many times on the gun (which is fun of course) because they just keep driving into the same fucking rock 24/7.
