I've played tons of arena. Its fun but make sure you have good teammates. My k/d would be way better than ~1.00 if I played with a consistent team. Playing with people with no mics, people that aren't play or people that leave really hurts.

Kabob, I followed your advice on yesterdays challenges and got them all pretty quick. Thanks for posting the tip. I'm almost at rank Major. Has anybody purchased any armor effects? Or is everyone saving for the big ones?

OK, so I don't much like Infection, but I had a stellar game this morning, I added it to my File Share along with a a smaller clip of some of the action.

A hair over 22K points away from Lt. Col but I'll be out of town for the next...7 weekends so my progression is going to slow waaaaay down methinks.

I dislike arena due to the lone wolf style ranking. I just enjoy the more competitive play. I wish they'd add in objective style games as well, but whatever. I'll just have to wait for the MLG / Hardcore playlist.


Oh, and I'll be out of town all weekend, so no playing for me until Tuesday. I will play with anyone who wants; I don't care about the rankings, just the gameplay.

I was gone all weekend (got back last night) so I missed out on some of the easy credits. Still, playing a few gameas last night and less than 20 mins this morning I got within 4K points of Lt. Col.

I have really been sucking it up in matchmaking as time goes on but I've found comfort in the Challenges. I'm not sure why I ignored these at first; they are fun and a lot of times it's easy credits.

Seriously though, when I hit Lt. Col I'll have finished off all the achievements (assuming I can afford to buy something from that rank) which (in my mind) means I can check off Reach as being "done" (one of only...4 games on the 360 I've finished off). I'll keep playing it, probably at the same pace for now.

I've really not played that many matches. Well...I take that back, I've played quite a few but it's not some astronomical number. My buddy PJ has probably 400 more kills than I do, but then again I've killed 7x as many Covenant as he has (he doesn't play SP). The only reason my rank is so high is because A) I try to knock out all the daily challenges (usually in as short a time as possible, I've finished 80 of 'em thus far) and B) I've used the Sword Base + Target Locator thing to knock out alot of daily challenges, which in turn got me several commendations. Just this morning I got two of the daily challenges in maybe 5 minutes doing that.

It says it was toned down in the last update, but I haven't tried it yet.

Yup, looking on Bungie it says I went +228 and the game time says 4 minutes (although I think it was closer to 5-6). Got my 150 kills and Elite kills really easily. Maybe it was the fact that while the bombs were dropping I was shooting at the long range Elites with ym DMR.

It's a bit late for them to "clamp down" on it, methinks anyone who's planned on doing said exploit already has (and trust me, it isn't worth the cR's). I do it mostly to knock out daily challenges, the flip side is that doing said challenges has finished off lots of commendations (which is worth several cR's). I think that calling in a Target Locator and killing 10-15 guys nets me a whopping 6 cR's per try...

The single most frusterating achievement I've ever attempted, moreso than "Mile High Club" from CoD 4.

I think that achievement is all about timing. I nailed the assassination many times and no achievement. Then I tried to do it while being as close to the ground as possible and the first time I pulled off an assassination with that mindset it unlocked.

Ironically it was my last attempt as I was just about to call it quits.

I did one that was right before hitting the ground, grabbing the elite's leg and twisting it around. :\

Yeah, I assassinated the Elite probably 70 times before I actually got the achievement.

You may want to check out x360a.org. On their Halo Reach forum they describe a different method of getting the achievement. The just of it is using a second controller, turn the iron skull on, and do it at the beginning of nightfall on legendary. There is an elite down below right after you assassinate the first elite. You grenade yourself at the beginning so you have no shield, that way when you jump off, it's far enough to kill you. Might be worth checking out if you're still having trouble with it.

You sit until they unlock the level cap. I played a guy just this morning who was Lt. Col Grade 3 and had 0 exp till his next lvl.
