Can you remove that last line, please? It's kind of a spoiler...

Anyways, I just finished it...wow.

Now we get to wait three+ years for the next one, I know she'll spend even more time on it than the others.
Has she officially said there would only be seven? Seeing as how it's going in a completely new direction...I would assume there would be more.

by saying that first line, you are confirming that it is definately a spoiler....

And had he removed that, no one would be the wiser.

This stuff cracks me up.

I'm seventeen and have probably read some books that you couldn't even comprehend.

What have you read lately? 1984? Schindlers' List? No?

I really like literature, but I almost never have time to read. Also, I try to read all books in the original language, ecxept when I don't comprehend that language (fully). I read Jules Verne in Dutch, Lord of The Rings in English, and some other books in English, too. Can't remember all the names, but I like books and stuff..

Cliffs: And stuff...

I read it before the movies. Or, at least, before they were released, they were in the making (but I didn't know) when I read them.

I'm not even that far yet but can tell that Rowling is upping the anti as far as complexity nad depth. Its like her writing is growin up with the books. Real cool.

Bought it at midnight and read in spurts throughout Saturday. Finished by 2am Sunday. Easily my new favorite of the series. Used to be Goblet but man, this just hits it out of the park. JK has some balls doing what she did. Loved all the interaction (emphasis on the "action") between the characters. From the beginning chapter to the end, I couldn't put it down. I was always wondering what was going to happen next. Well worth reading it as fast as I did and I'm already re-reading it, and will probably do so a couple of more times before Book 7 comes out. Also have the PDF version too.

As for spoilers, I made it a point to stay away from ANY Potter-related thread/forum/site/etc. beginning Friday afternoon. I feel sad for others though who said that they read in freaking thread titles the big spoiler in this book while browsing non-Potter related sites. That's just wrong and very inconsiderate. Idiots.

If it was this crazy for HBP, can you just imagine how crazy it'll be when the final book comes out? Gonna be like Star Wars Episode III all over again, but better.

 I can't wait, that's for sure! She said she will begin writing the last book at the end of this year, so we should expect it to be out in about 2 years.

Haha...Cho?

..and I thought she directly said that a certain person would not be...out? Hmm..dont think thats spoilerish considering she stated it on her website...

I didn't think it was as sad as people made it out to be. ..and personally I like the little love story that was interweaved in it. I love their last interaction in the book....I could see myself going for her!

I also like how Fluer acted at the end. Very nice!

Oh man...I am already anticipating the next one...

So do you guys think the next one he is going solo or with a team?

Kind of split
I believe it'll start as a team, then when he gets to Vold, it kind has to be solo. Kind of like in the first book.

Just read 1984 a few months ago... damn it was good.

Also, just finished The Once and Future King - any King Arthur fans, a must read.... I'm about to start Le Morte D' Arthur

IMHO, Harry Potter, Hitchiker's Guide, Ender's Game... modern classics, if you will indulge me, shouldn't be derided though, simply because they are written in a down to earth language and are not typical of what we consider the "literary classic".

I agree, definately considering how we know certain characters views on death. Right now it seems as if what has happened has happened much by calculation, however it could change as it is not up to me - and I'm not sure I'd like it unless it did turn out to be a part of a predetermined plan, however if it is otherwise it would definatley make Harry look even better than he does right now, so I can see plusses either way.

Yeah, there seemed to be a lot of "hook ups" in this one, things are settling down and shifting into gear for that final stretch towards the finish line. Some things aren't quite certain, however, and are still somewhat iffy. However I do think Harry needs to take some notes from Spiderman 2, seeing as how he's sacrificing so much for the good of others, I think he shouldn't be to proud to refuse help where he needs it most.

her character was similar as it had been in the 4th book, iffy at the begining and very likable towards the end.

Book 6 almost seems like the first half (or third most likely ) of book 7, it doesn't really seem to start and finish on its own to be able to exist on its own - as if its existence is to setup book 7 - and it does an exceptional job. The ending isn't a cliff hanger, the entire book is.

So do you guys think the next one he is going solo or with a team?
I'd place my bets on on some more D.A. action, and it surely seems fitting. I seriously doubt he's going to be alone the entire time, however the whole solo Harry vs. Voldemort final confrontation seems inevitable - however it would offer an interesting twist for Harry to have help. Harry has often been a fool to think he's had to do things by himself. He needs to realize that he's not the only one who can or is to make choices, he and his friends need to come together and make choices as a whole - or at least this is how I feel. One of Voldemort's weaknesses has been his lack of true friends, something Harry would be throwing away to act alone because he certainly is rich in the power Dumbledore knows Harry has.

Well I read somewhere where the last two 6 & 7 were a set...like you 7 is a continuation of 6 in the sense that it was "to be continued..." sense. Do I make SENSE? Hahah...Like you need the sixth to understand the 7th at all.

I see Ginny as an integral role either way. I mean..as support...or just plain kick ass wizard. Her fiestiness would mesh well with Harry since he is a little passive. Although I do say he is getting a little more rebellious and questioning of everything. Maybe a little of the darker side/vengeful side coming out of him?

When I was talking about the solo/group action, I was wondering if it was going to be like Return of the Kings where the main character has 1 person backing him up, in harrys case 2?, or if it would be a group like D.A. going all out together.

Any thoughts on who is going to be hooked up at the end of 7?

Harry/Hermione?
Harry/Ginny?
Harry/Cho?

Ron/Hermione?
Ron/Fleur's sister? <-haha..or did she die..I'm losing it!
Ron/Lavender?

My previous favorite was Order of the Phoenix (previous to that it was Prisoner of Azkaban), and I'll have to re-read it to be sure that Half-Blood Prince hasn't displaced it. This book is almost non-stop plot progression. You can't put it down. And it sets up so much for the last book I don't know how Rowling is going to wrap everything up.

It was a great read.

I wasn't as keen on Order of the Phoenix - loved the Goblet of Fire previously. Book 7 is going to be immense
