I agree there is always something better around the corner... but I was merely asking because my contract runs out in April I think. So it might be worth waiting a month or two instead of getting the SGS2.

Phones that hold up value nicely like the SGS2 indicate that the "always something better around the corner" theory is flawed because the progress doesn't happen evenly over time. Bionic, RAZR, Note, Nexus, all these phone came out within weeks of each other yet they are valued very differently despite similar pricing and each one looks bad in direct comparison with the "older" SGS2.

Though even if my reasoning is correct and SGS3 sets the bar high like the SGS2, there is no way of knowing how long it keeps the performance crown. Staying on top for half of 2012 looks like a much more difficult task for Samsung compared to 2011, considering how many new models and new SoC's are set to collide next year.

Both TI and Qualcomm would have to release inferior parts again for the Exynos to shine once again as bright and as long as with 4210, as unlikely as that seems.

I'm in the same boat, but OG incredible. I'll probably try to hold out for a sale at least, though they seem hard to come by for upgrades

I was holding out with my OG Droid as well. I fully expected the Nexus to have launched by the time I got back to the States this past weekend, but nope.

My OG Droid finally died for good on the trip, so now that I'm back I had to go to Verizon and get a phone to hold me over (also need it for work). So I went with the cheapest (retail pricing) they had, which was the Pantech Breakout. And you know what? This phone actually isn't all that bad. It's definitely no Nexus, but I have to say I'm surprised at how good it is compared to the more popular Android phones.

Just got mine from Clove today and I love it so far. It feels amazingly fast compared to my old Evo 4G. Apps load almost instantly, and network performance is great (I got ~6300 kbps on T-Mobile's HSPA+). But the best part about it is the screen. It blows away every other smartphone screen I've seen.

Ive gone two extra months with tmobile more than I'd like. I dont want to have to pay for another month. My billing cycle ends on the 10th. If its not out on the 8th, Im grabbing a Rezound and maybe exchanging it later.

Are you in USA? How much did you paid total, including tax + shipping?

So it appears clove is selling it for 670+25 and exepansys selling for 740 right now. I just switch over to the tmobile 4g $30 plan, and I need this phone asap! Anyone else think any usa retailers will sell the unlocked gsm version before xmas?

Well, the 29th is upon us, the supposed day that Verizon will announce the Galaxy Nexus will be available on December 8, but not a peep from Verizon yet.

Ugh, I hate Verizon. Of course, AT&T is being more BS, accusing everyone -- *especially* LTE users, when it should be the opposite -- of tethering at 5gb usage on the unlimited plan. I don't see how this makes them at all competitive.

It destroys the unlimited plans, which means they can start to make money off of data again for those users.

Oh, wait. You meant how are they competitive in the market? The don't need to be. Verizon is also off unlimited plans and Sprint's adoption of the iPhone means this time next year their network is garbage.

For me it's the opposite. Nothing more annoying than seeing really nice phones(Like the Nexus line) come to shoddy networks first or only. What's the point of a smartphone if it spends most of its life in edge or worse?

But Verizon is offering 4gb LTE. If you're not on unlimited, taking this (plus much better coverage) is a no-brainer over staying with the Death Star.

AT front page has the VZW version listed as 32GB storage, is this for sure? I thought that model was gone.
