Phones that hold up value nicely like the SGS2 indicate that the "always something better around the corner" theory is flawed because the progress doesn't happen evenly over time. Bionic, RAZR, Note, Nexus, all these phone came out within weeks of each other yet they are valued very differently despite similar pricing and each one looks bad in direct comparison with the "older" SGS2.I agree there is always something better around the corner... but I was merely asking because my contract runs out in April I think. So it might be worth waiting a month or two instead of getting the SGS2.
Though even if my reasoning is correct and SGS3 sets the bar high like the SGS2, there is no way of knowing how long it keeps the performance crown. Staying on top for half of 2012 looks like a much more difficult task for Samsung compared to 2011, considering how many new models and new SoC's are set to collide next year.
Both TI and Qualcomm would have to release inferior parts again for the Exynos to shine once again as bright and as long as with 4210, as unlikely as that seems.
