What a lame explanation. They ARE blocking it. It's like saying the television council doesn't block the word f*ck on TV. Instead they are opposed to foul language and this show insists on using it. They are under negotiations.

Because the market is carrier specific so even an unlocked phone can't see it on the market

There are market unlockers that get around that very easily.

On the GSM version, it's not as easy as loading an APK, you actually have to flash a system.img to get Wallet on it. Simple enough but still a pain.

Verizon’s Equipment Guide Updated, Galaxy Nexus Release Date of December 9 is “Official”

Pretty much confirms what's been said this past week but short of an actual Verizon press release this is about as confirmed/solid as it gets

Reading of numerous people getting confirmations of in store for Friday, I'm calling around tomorrow and see if I can find one.

However I will be getting one off of Amazon, since that'll mean activating myself does that just incur dialing a phone number?

i really want to get one on Friday after work, however i really want to know if the battery life is gonna suck because of the 4G antenna or not

Does anybody know if full screen support will be opened up to third party apps? Right now only YouTube and the photo viewer use the full 1280x720 screen. Everything else has the buttons taking up the bottom of the screen.

It would definitely be nice for Netflix and games.

I am pretty sure, all an app dev needs to do is put some code in and the buttons will disappear.

I currently have an Iphone 4 with unlimited data
I want to add another relative to our family plan, who will take my Iphone 4
I will be purchasing the Nexus and want the unlimited data and my phone number to go to my Nexus, while the other relative will (undoubtedly) have to get one of Verizon's new tiered data options

Just to clarify, we set up our Verizon account through Best Buy originally due to better pricing on our phones, so we'll likely go through them again. Think there'll be a risk of these phones being on backorder due to high demand?

In my experience the BB Mobile guys are pretty good. I've used them twice to use upgrades from other lines on my phone and they both went off without a hitch.

So how many weeks of exclusivity before I can get one on AT&T.

Does the G-Nex allow you to shut off LTE if you don't want to drain battery as fast? That is one thing deficiency of the Skyrocket that holds me back a little from getting it.

How long till the new LTE chips come - is this January timing or August timing? (Krait I think is what its called - whatever the new LTE 22nm chips that won't suck down a battery like crazy).

Yes, you can shut off the LTE antenna on the Gnex. There is also an optional 2150mh battery you can purchase as well to most likely greatly extend battery life.

Not sure on the next gen chips. Might get displayed at MWC, products a few months later.

No one (outside of NDA-signed sources) knows for sure - some rumors have it pegged anywhere from 4 weeks to 3 months. It has been submitted for FCC approval with AT&T GSM bands so I would think it wouldn't be too far off.

Yes, I've seen images of going into the Mobile Network settings and being able to choose "CDMA only".

Just a guess but devices with Krait will probably be unveiled at Mobile World Congress in late Feburary. Perhaps CES? Qualcomm is predicting a 2H 2012 release but that's a lot of time between the conference so the optimist in me says late Q2 of 2012. All speculation of course.

P3droid on Twitter said it doesnt stick out much more than the stock battery. Also the price reads as $49.99

Extended battery uses same cases and docks. You can't tell its on there. In fact the extended should be the standard IMO.
