So its not the Nexus having weak signal, its that other LTE phones aren't reporting it correctly. Interesting that only the Google Experience Device reports the correct signal to bars. Since the Tbolt, Charge, Revolution, Bionic, and Razr all feature manufacturer UIs and tons of Verizon bloatware, I can't help but wonder if this was intentional.

Thanks for your help! I live in Seattle so I'm pretty sure we'd have 4G. You can still program ringtones for when people call you right? It's geeky but I've always thought that if I did get a phone I'd have the Tardis landing as my ringer.

Yes you can do pretty much anything you want. There are apps that will even take an MP3 and assist you in turning them into ringtones so you don't have to do it on a PC. You just have to drop the ringtones in the ringtones folder and notifications in the notifications folder so that the OS will pick them up and offer them as options.

That was my first thought before I saw that the Galaxy was coming out. The Iphones are cool and all but I kind of want something that I can play with more. And it might be because I spent the last 3 months testing my company's new iphone app.

so its fine now that Apple had incorrect signal to bar ratios on the iPhone 4? but since we love to blast them so much, how about some flak towards other manufacturers who made the tbolt, charge, revolution, etc?

anyway, I thought that the mapping was based on Android itself and not something manufacturers change?

4G had been going in and out since I got home, so I figured I'd just take a screenshot and upload it a little earlier than planned.

Basically similar usage as yesterday, though I actually did some more battery intensive stuff today (GPS for a while, streamed some HD youtube videos while I was at work), screen on time of ~90 minutes.

Curious to see if the battery performance will improve, as this is just the first day with it.

I'm still torn whether to pay T-Mobile $200 ETF and switch to VZ and get this phone from Amazon for $150 subsidized or pay $685 for GSM version and ride out my contract til June '12. I prefer GSM as I would prefer to switch to AT&T later but LTE speed sure is attractive.

I'd go with the second option honestly. Buy the GSM version and stay on T-Mobile.

price is not that bad.. 189 at amazon now.. was 150..

my first day impression is.. I hate it's battery life. I'll disable 4g to see if it's better. but if it doesn't get significantly better.. i'll have to go back to IP4s. Phone dying on me is the last thing I need to worry about when working.

I am in the same boat right now...I am using it, but the battery life makes it difficult to keep the phone running for most of the day. I ordered the extended battery pack to see if it will alleviate the problem a bit...

RSS feeds, lots of texting, pictures for twitter, dropbox file management when I am on the go, etc.

You're not taking math into consideration here. Depending on his contract with T-Mobile, the monthly fees for Verizon are probably higher. I was on a month to month plan with T-Mobile with unlimited text, unlimited data for $60 a month, including taxes and fees. Now I am on contract with Verizon for $80 plus fees and taxes. $20 over 2 years is $240.

Hang out a couple months.. the prices will come down and the kinks will get worked out.

I don't even play games, or graphic intensive items. Just my work email and texting. It's ridiculous. Considering that same use I put on my iphone that i carry side by side is down to 75% now and the GN was at 4% 2 hours ago. both starting at the same time last night when i charged it to 100%.

i hate admitting that IOS might be better and I would not carry one if i had a choice but with this battery life.. it leaves me little to no choice. work is more important than personal preference.

tomorrow I will disable 4g and see where it takes me, but at this rate.

Yep. I think it's cool that I can make it through the work day with 4G enabled and not worry about it.

I'm surprised. That's pretty much all I do and you see the screenshots I posted of my battery life. Just CDMA, I imagine you'll be happier.

hmm i just bought this phone new for $540 on ebay. i couldn't resist something to play with.

my coworker had one, and the stock ICS just sucked me in and the ridiculously cheap ebay auction. gah, i have a perfectly good rezound too...
