FWIW the Galaxy Nexus slips in my front pocket better than my OG Droid did and feels better too. Then again I don't use a case.

It's about the same size as my epic touch and that's never been a problem. But I don't wear skinny jeans either.

Does anyone regret getting a a nexus due to its size? I'm getting my first smartphone and it's hard to tell if the size will bug me or not.

I've had smartphones since the Treos and this Nexus is a bit too long for comfort in my book. I don't really regret it though, small sacrifice. But right now it's winter and I carry it in my coat... come summer it will have to be in shorts and the pockets aren't always that deep.

Try downloading and installing fastboot drivers on your computer to see if that helps. Check the third post from this link for PDANet which has the drivers for Vista.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392310

My computer always detect my phone and I never had any problem copying files back and forth. But I already had fastboot drivers installed so I don't know if that helped or not. But it doesn't hurt to try and you'll need fastboot drivers anyway if you ever start messing with your phone.

UNfortunately it didn't help. I started the phone in fastboot mode, Android Phone shows up ok in my device manager, and even PDANet is connected fine with USB tether. I click My Computer and it's stalling... no drives are showing... it's a similar symptom as before. Sometimes autoplay shows up upon connection but clickign on open folders will hourglass it too. Surprised a simple USB connection with the phone is so difficult.

I was nervous about the size coming from OG but it really seems like a "smoother" fit in my pocket too. I dont know what it is about it but it just works. I used to carry work BB and Droid in the same pocket, i dont do that anymore but its not a major issue.

because its thinner and larger it actually sits in my pockets better, i had a Dx as well, the nexus fits better because its slightly curved. it hugs the leg


jeans, kakies, suits fits fine in all of them,

now if you wear hipster pants because you hate your balls and want to strangle them then i could see it being an issue

umm, don't know what to tell you. It's working fine for me on Win7. Have you tried any other computer?

I know it's not the same but you could use something like AirDroid app to wireless transfer without the need for usb cable. The app is free. Another alternate is WiFi File Transfer Pro but that's a paid app.

Personally, I couldn't live with a bug like that and would return the phone if I couldn't get it to work on other computers as well.

Like has been said it fits in my front pants pockets just fine. I even have a slim case on mine and it's no problem.

I dropped to 50% in a couple hours, with only wifi on... it shows half the power use was "screen" and that's on 0 brightness.

BTW, the usb connection worked after another reboot.

Thanks for the size comments. It's hard to gauge how it will actually fit in the pocket when the store models are all tethered down with huge plastic locks on them. I'm gonna order it and return after a couple weeks if I don't like it.

It looks like it. Though i was able to order one directly from verizon for 25 you might want to check there first.

I ordered one from the verizon site earlier this week. It allowed me to order and confirmed the price but then I received an email stating they were out of stock and they provided no estimate of delivery. Not a big deal but just keep in mind that it may be a while before you receive it from them.

I ordered on the 11th and received a confirmation of my order however, whenever I try to look it up (following the link they provided) I get an error message. They offer free two day FedEx, which would have been yesterday, though I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since I did order a bit later in the day. Some sort of communication on their part would at least be appreciated, if it is out of stock I would at least like to know about it. Rather, they shouldn't even let you order if it is out of stock instead of processing the order then telling you 2-3 days later it might take a while.

I just bought one in person at the verizon store - the only place that has them. So far it's pretty cool - definitely not a one-handed phone. It turns out that I get unlimited data for $20 with my work discount!

You need to use the GV app to send texts.

anyone out there use an ap to sync their FB contacts with those in their phone? I now there are a few out there, id like to do it but i want the app to ONLY SYNC with existing contacts in my phone. i don't need everything from FB in here which is what motos social thing used to do

Once facebook is updated to tie into the new People API, this should happen.

Twitter already does it, so FB can't be that far behind.
