I guess that explains why Street Fighter IV is so terrible.

Try and get a hold of the demo. Its pretty sweet. Only one mission made me say "this sucks" but then you start to use the environment to your advantage and its fairly manageable. I'm having fun just testing the boundries of demo to see how much I can explore. Its almost like the Burnout demo where you can play if for hours and hours.

Is the demo on PSN? I've been waiting to try this since I first saw it in gameinformer, I had no idea there was a demo out though, no one seems to talk about it on these forums.

Its only available if you preorder from Best Buy or get a nice manager at Gamestop to give you one of their employee demo codes. If you have an account on neogaf, there is a massive thread for sharing. Other gaming sites probably have similar threads.

I have been so excited about this game, very stoked to get it when it finally drops.
Just an open world super power romp, and has always sounded like it was very well done, and now reviews are stating the controls and gameplay are indeed very polished. Story for this kind of game wasn't something I was terribly worried about, but it's excellent that the story and the presentation of the story through the game does sound like an awesome bonus.

I'm thinking it'll be like Crackdown, a little less arcade-y in terms of sheer LOL, instead very grungy, but in the end an amazing addition to the PS3 line up. Something I definitely have to get.

It looks fantastic. Unfortunately I've noticed the prices are starting to creep up again in the Great White North. No way I'm paying $70 for games again.

The game looks pretty cool and the reviews are a great sign, however I'll hold off for the demo, GTA IV received raving reviews, looked pretty awesome and turned out to be pretty meh.

God, this game looks awesome. I placed my pre-order at GS a week ago and I can't wait. The Uncharted 2 demo is just icing on the cake.

Seriously? Your internet connection must really suck then. I figure it took me about an hour to download it. Maybe less. The demo was good. Kind of like an open world version of Force Unleashed.

He probably just has that mysterious issue where some people get really slow download speeds from PSN. Mine did that up until very recently. All my downloads were slow unless I went through a local proxy. But then a couple of weeks ago I started getting fast speeds. Maybe around the time of that last update? I'm not sure exactly... but something changed for me recently.

Yup. I have a decent cable internet connection and get more than adequate speeds on my PC and Xbox. PSN is a different story. It's now at 90 minutes. Guess I won't be playing it since I'm leaving for the weekend tomorrow.

I posted a thread about this exact issue. You have two ways to fix it:

1) Buy a new modem. The Linksys CM100 is basically guaranteed to fix it. With others, YMMV.
2) Use Privoxy.

You'll notice MUCH faster download speeds.

Also, I noticed increased speeds lately as well (without Privoxy or my new modem).

Edit: Just remembered that you read it and decided against Privoxy. I'd really recommend trying it out. Setting it up is super easy. If you mess something up (next to impossible if you follow instructions), it's just a matter of switching settings back. Or just buy a new modem. CM100s go for $40 or less now used.

I'm not sure what changed, by my speeds went up dramatically. I had just seen your update about the CM100 modem and was thinking about getting one to replace my Motorola when my PSN speeds suddenly skyrocketed. At first I thought my PS3 was still using the proxy, but I checked the settings and it wasn't. Before, without using the proxy, my speeds were maybe a couple hundred KB/sec at best. Now my speeds range between 1 and 2MB/sec... bascially as fast as my cable connection. So I guess I'll just keep with my current modem for now.

Yup, everything else on my network works fine and I don't use my PS3 enough to bother messing with it.
