I think they could stand to offer a few missions packs as well, since if you do all the side missions and clear out all parts of the city, you will suddenly find yourself without the ability to get certain trophies if you haven't gotten them already.

All in all, and amazing game, one of the few I think is well worth the $60 Day One price.

You can always start a new game and play as the opposite karma level. I plan on doing this, and maybe if I haven't reached a few trophies than just run around causing ruckus without advancing.

That's weird, I was thinking yesterday how much better it looked than GTA. I played GTA4 on the 360 though, but I doubt that makes a difference. To me everything looks better in infamous, especially the draw distance and textures.

Well GTA also looks quite bad.

I was expecting some amazing visuals, considering this is a 2nd-party game.

They could probably be better if you didn't mind hitting a loading screen every 100 steps Cole takes. Considering the size, scope and details of the environment, as well as all of the interactive objects and AI, I'd say the graphics are more than adequate. It certainly does look rough when you stop and look around, but I've been enjoying the game too much to really notice or care.

I can't think of any games off the top of my head that are of the same scope but have significantly better graphics.

^- this, with open-world games, the graphics tend to be a little bit poorer, but I'm having too much fun to really care.

Am I the only one finding the Full game to be a lot more responsive than the demo?

Not sure. Didn't really pay much attention in the demo. The whole thing was new to me, so I was sluggish getting things done right.

I'm like a monkey right now in the full game, but that's because I've been playing it a lot. Not sure about differences in responsiveness between demo and full.

Yep, that and the game was really going for that grungy appearance, which doesn't help show off any graphical qualities. In the sewers this game is pure beauty, but that's just because of the lighting. There are moments that stick out like wow... that looks great. But in general, it's nothing too extraordinary, but not all games need to have the best graphics at the time. If I can skip loading screens I'll take a slight graphical hit.
Only time pop-in is really apparent is when grinding the elevated rails, but looking at draw distance and the scope, that's acceptable.

But for whatever reason, some games, like Killzone 2, really benefit from all that attention to graphical and animation detail. But you forget about it after awhile and keep playing, but you realize the graphics are helping blend you into the game world, it's less of a jarring experience.
Yet with inFamous, the key detail is animation. The graphics do the job and the animation is awesome. In short, I forget about everything and I just go nuts in the game.

inFamous is by far one of my favorite games on the PS3. I enjoyed Resistance 2's blend of platforming and FPS, and well... Sucker Punch absolutely blasted that bar Insomniac raised. The blend of platforming and open world TPS-style gameplay is amazing.

As I progress, the pacing is just more and more phenomenal. More things to do, the game really opens up in terms of options, and there are a lot of little fun things. You start to really get into the hunt of shards, and hell, as the story progresses, you almost want to forget about all the side missions because you just want the next chapter. But little things here and there really add a little spark of genius in the story telling.

My favorite thus far, minor spoiler...

was with Sasha talking to you, and as she was doing so, called you Kessler.

And so far, the second island really mixes things up with enemies.

And with everything in this game, it's one of the few I am really striving to do things to get trophies, all because those things are perfectly incorporated into the game to add more without feeling unnecessary, as if they were only there for trophies.
Though I'm saddened that there is only one Gold trophy in the game, and that's for beating it on Hard.
I'm debating if, once I finish this go-around as a good guy, I should play the bad guy on Hard or not. Be a big challenge to get through the game, and when I get frustrated I tend to drop the game. But I definitely have to play again to be a Bad Guy. Just seems like fun, and interested to see how things are different when playing that side.

I really love this game.

I wish I could hold down the circle button though and keep falling from a building. It's a pain to drop down and each time you grab the window below, drop down, grab. I'd like to just hold the button and fall until I let go, then he can grag onto the ledge.

Yeah, it's an amazing game, but it's got some quirky little control issues to be sure. Sometimes I'll be holding down the button for one action then push another button to do something else, and it won't register my 2nd button push until I completely let go of the first button.

Overall though, this is my favorite PS3 game since launch, it just gets better and better the farther I get into it.

i downloaded the demo over the weekend and finally gave it a try.

played it for about 20 minutes and just got kind of bored. i found that the enemies are kind of tough to see and 1/2 the time i had bullets coming at me but had no clue where they were coming from. i tended to find most of the enemies by looking at where the bullets were coming from.

the gameplay was very repetitive at the beginning of the demo as well (train stops, restart train, rinse and repeat) and the variety (or lack there of) of the enemies felt kind of bland.

i also felt the controls were kind of clunky. i found myself sticking to objects that i didn't want to, and not sticking to objects when i wanted to. part of that may be that the analogs on the ps3 controller are awful.

i'm not big on these open world sandbox games in general so it doesn't really surprise me. i loved crackdown but that is the first one i liked since probably gta3. i was hoping this would be as fun as crackdown but not really close.

not a bad game, just not for me.

I was pretty unimpressed by the demo, but I took a chance and picked up the full game and I LOVE it. I played it pretty much all weekend.

The controls in the demo were a lot more unresponsive than the full game. As for the demo, the train part is only 1 mission, and that is the only mission that you had to get the train moving in.

On a side note.. the last power you get is BADASS!

I thought the demo was pretty crappy. Seems like a poor attempt at recreating Crackdown. I never felt big and powerful. The weapons are kind of neat, but without being able to run fast and leap great heights, you really don't get the feeling of having super powers. I don't care how powerful they make the weapons, hell, they could have lightning bolts shooting out of the character's cock, but if he can't run fast as fuck and jump like a mother fucker, what's the point? Tell me that's only in the demo.

What's up with the AI? It's really dumb. Cars and people appear out of thin air. The cars autonomously drive around the city? WTF? Can't render a body behind the wheel?

The graphics really aren't great either. This game is a PS3 exclusive. Show off. Let it shine. Nope. Fail. It looks as average as every other game right now.

Eh. You went into it expecting Crackdown. Sure the ability to jump and run crazy is sweet, but it isn't what the game is about. He's rather ordinary, save for his excellent climbing and platforming skills, and his new-found electric powers.

However, he can jump, he can glide, he can grind, he can make a shield, etc.

By the time you reach the third island, you have most of your powers, and can have them upgraded a fair amount. Also, the enemy variety begins to become just that, variety. There are a lot of types, and it just gets crazy.

In short, the demo attempts to show off the capability of the game, but there is only so much that can be demoed before it starts to take away from the overall experience in the full game by spoiling it. It's a rather enveloping game and is addicting as hell.

? Cars have drivers in this game. They're pretty impossible to miss, so I don't know what you were looking at.

It's not Crackdown. You ever play Sly Cooper? If anything, it's that plus GTA. Speaking of GTA, the graphics are on par with the latest one, with a better framerate.

If it's graphics and crazy superpowers you want, I think you should hold out for Prototype.

when i 1st played the demo i didn't even finish the train mission. I played again and finished that mission and liked it better. I then go to the mission where you have to dsetroy the tanker truck and that is impossible. trying to kepe up with the truck, shoot the truck, and shoot the millions of enemies that go along with it is just impossible.

Nah, it's easy. Just throw a ton of grenades as you run toward the truck... do this when you first see it in the alley. Just keep on running by any enemies still alive as they'll just now be getting up as you pass. Then jump on the front of the truck (this way you ride with it and have partial cover from enemy fire) and call down the lighting. You can finish the mission in mere seconds.

Just finished last night. It was pretty good, although I dont see how anyone could beat the game on hard when doing the Good story line. I'm actually looking forward to replaying it as Evil and blowing the city to pieces. Civilians be damned!

Uh, I didn't go into it expecting Crackdown. If you've played Crackdown before this demo, you obviously see where the developers borrowed heavily from.

Sorry, not all cars are populate with drivers in the demo. Do the cars magically appear in the actual game as they do in the demo?

I know it's not Crackdown. Read my post above. This demo looks slightly worse than GTA4 on the 360. And yes, I'll pick up Prototype...as well as Crackdown 2.

The game is more like Sly Cooper than crackdown. It really isn't crackdown at all, it might seem like it in the demo, but once you get the full game, I find it to be completely different.

What do you mean cars magically appear? They have drivers, and no, they don't just 'appear' right in front of you.

As for GTA4, it had terrible draw distance, inFamous is slightly better in terms of this while having GTA4 graphics. Though both of them aren't stunning in terms of graphics, especially if you play on a monitor.

Gah.. who cares? I have yet to see an open world game that didn't pop cars and people from time to time. You can definitely see stuff like that in inFamous, but it's not distracting.

When you get that tar stuff on you, is there a way to get it off while in game? I notice if I save and quit it's gone (and all my battery spots are open) but how do I get rid of it while playing?
