The next and second debate is set for October 8 at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, in front of a group of undecided voters. The third and final debate is scheduled for October 13 at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona, is expected to focus on economic and domestic policy.

WashingtonPost.com will have live video up on their site as of 9PM EST. I would imagine most of the major news sites would too. Or at worst, after the debates are over, they'll post up video...

Personally, I think everyone should avoid the post-debate spin. Form your own thoughts and compare it to the spinmeisters tomorrow morning. That would be quite interesting.

Kerry is already trying to break the debate "rules"

his team wants to remove the red/yellow/green timing lights from the lecturn.

these lights are standard in timed debates or lectures.
green means talk,
yellow means time almost up
red means stop..

the prevaricator agreed to these lights being in plain view of the tv audience and the studio audience reluctantly, know he wants to remove them.

typical.

look for Kerry to "break the rules" and ramble on well after his time is over....
rules and red lights, he doesn't follows rules! he makes the rules!

Rules are meant to be broken! I seriously hope the media nabs some shots showing Kerry and Bush at the same time (which is also against the "rules"). Of course, as you probably know, Kerry towers over the little pipsqueak Bush and so shallow, superficial viewers will assuredly come to the conclusion that Kerry is the better leader than Bush.

Personally, I think both parties should scrap the rules and do the debates the old-fashioned way. The way things are now with their 32-page rule book, it's less of a "debate" and more of a "managed media event."

Boo!

When George Meets John

Presidential debates always put more importance on projecting character than on being right. George W. Bush and John Kerry can both boast of never having lost a debate, though the two candidates rely on strikingly dissimilar sets of skills. I strongly suggest watching the Debates on C-Span.

They will be showing live footage from the Debate room prior to the candidates arrival. You will get to see the reading of the rules, and more.

Also, at the end of the debates, rather than wathing the spin on network news, C-Span will be braodcasting live from the Spin Room itself. You will get to see the frenzy taking place !

Woohoo! Time to fire up the old C-band Dish and see what kind of wild feeds I can get! You know, the stuff that's being broadcast straight out of the news vans back to the station that was never intended for broadcast. I wonder how much pre-post debate coverage I can get. It will be interesting to see how these two act when they don't THINK they're being watched.

I wonder how quickly the partisan talking points will be broadcast from their respective war rooms to the army of bloggers (AKA the 'Pajamujahaideen')?

The 'Debates' in this sanitized format will be worthless.

What I want to see is a WWF CAGEMATCH, with flying chairs and Figure-4 Death Grips.
Two go in and only one comes out, Hulk Hogan as the Moderator.

I think the reason is because he has raised his alert level to orange and those lights make his face light up like a Christmas tree.

Bush Wins = Bush Wins
Tie = Bush Wins

Kerry doesn't have much hope. If he plays the anti-war card, he's going to lose most of the undecided vote. His only hope is to scare seniors and talk about domestic issues.

....or tell Americans some war stories about his days in Cambodia. That makes for good TV.

And Bush can tell about how dangerous being a jet jockey was like the time he almost killed himself trying to land his jet when he was still stoned.

Both of these guys are so uninteresting. I wish they were jousting or arm wrestling instead. Or let 'em beat the bejeezus out of each other. At least that would be somewhat cathartic for the viewing audience.

LOL, what would be even better if they were jousting while riding ostrich-like creatures over pools of lava!
