i'll take a Kobe that chases Super Stars away to create a legacy vs a Lebron who puts his tail between his legs and says, he can't do it on his own and joins Dwayne Wades team.

??? Kobe couldn't do it himself at all. They had to surround Kobe with many All-Stars for him to win. It's the same thing with LeBron. LeBron needed help just like Kobe needed help. The Cavs didn't give him enough decent people around him so he left to a team that is now favored to win it all.

Pao Gasol may not be a "super star" but I would put him just slightly under the lebron, wade and kobe tier. Gasol is L.A.'s Chris Bosh imo.

Pau Gasol and Ron Artest are above average players only. They're middle of the road guys.

"You become a superstar as an individual, you become a champion as a team, I understand that." -Lebron James

Now that all 3 are going to the Heat, there's going to be plenty of veterans who will want to play for the Heat.

They will have no problem putting a team together.

you miss the point, gasol came to Kobe, not the other way around. Lebron went to Dwayne Wade.

What a huge mistake by Lebron. In miami, its always going to be known as Wade's team. Lebron just shot himself in the foot. He'll never match Micheal or Kobe.

I just wonder who will be the leader of the team and who will be the follower?

LeBron's now going on about all the teams with a major leader and good role players...and comparing his going to Miami as just another one of those setups.

But, will Wade take the follower role? We know LeBron is won't.

This may work for a year.....but over time, I almost can see too much tension and friction over the team leadership role causing severe dysfunction within the team.

Uhhh...Gasol is the best center in the league and probably in the top 5-8 of any player that any given team would take.

Artest I won't argue as much as he's on the downward slide in his career.

Lebron was winning games for the Cavs all by himself and so was Wade/Bosh pretty much. They are guaranteed a playoff spot with these three no matter what. They just need to be in tip top shape come the playoffs.

Bosh? bosh was winning shit on his own.
OVERrated.

However, if you remember the trade me demands kobe made before gasol came over, it was the same deal. kobe wanted to go to a winner. it was only due to the LA front office making the trades they did that kobe ended up staying.

lol. seriously? those two are and were all star calibre players. without them or bynum, Kobe goes nowhere

lol seriously

Pau Gasol is the best PF in the league right now that Duncan is old and Artest has been and is a defensive beast. Both are very good players. Kobe didn't win anything before Pau got there and needed Artest to win it.

I wouldn't guarantee anything to anyone. yes they have a great chance at getting in the playoffs, but it just takes two of them going into a n extreme shooting funk and everything goes down the shitter.

You think Gasol could carry a team on his own? I don't think so. All he does is flop, like all the other European playesr out there(including the soccer players).

Wade had zero problem coming off the bench for Team USA and was still the top scorer on the team. Wade has ZERO ego and he'll do whatever he needs to for the team to function. That's why the Heat will always be Wade's team even though Lebron might have the reigns for awhile. As long as they are winning it'll be gravy. Also Riley won't allow stupid shit to occur. You can count on that!

Yes but even if they are in shooting funks, they will all demand double teams which will help everyone else on the floor.

I feel the same way. I lost some respect for him. You couldn't get it done being the main piece. So now you go join two other guys for the ride. Maybe he is just not as good as many of us thought.

Umm he got to the Finals practically by himself. He's never had anyone else to rely on at all and even though he didn't win it all in CLE he got to the Finals basically by himself.

Or maybe he was playing for Cleveland.

before commenting too much about the teams depth, don't be surprised if a string of players suddenly decide playing for the ring starts to matter more than playing for the paycheck.

If I did the math correctly (and it's possible I didn't), the Heat now have about $10 million to split among 9 players. In a league where the average salary is $5 million, I don't think there will be a huge line of players willing to make that much of a sacrifice.
