Dude your whole post is full of selective facts and loses serious credibility in the fact that the Cleavland Cavaliers led the entire NBA in wins two years straight with 66 and 61 wins. So obviously all your who did he have around him is dumb. Couple with facts, not fluff, the Cavs this year had 2-1 lead over the Celtics and Lebron shot 33% over the next several games and they lost. And last year against Orlando he didn't play well in the last few games of that series either.
If he had been Jordan, Olajuwon, Shaq, Duncan great to name a few he would have won a championship. You don't lead the league in wins two years in a row with a bad team, bad ownership, and bad coach. Lebron didn't get it done. Notice I just talked about the last two years. Also this slop around him in 2006-2007 were good enough to help him play in the NBA finals. I don't knock the guy for wanting to win, but to say the Cavs weren't getting it done is just not the facts, Lebron didn't get it done.
They are important facts that weigh into his decision and determine whether or not he could win a championship in Cleveland. Am I supposed to bring up facts that have no relevance to the discussion at hand? I selected the important facts that explain how the front office and coaching let him down, and how and why any losses can't be heaped on Lebron. Yes the Cavs won tons of games, and it would be foolish to act like it was due to anything other than Lebron. He accounted for 48% of the team's points and carried them while everyone else went through injuries. He was the constant. Matched up against the Celtics, the Cavs had a mismatch (even without Amare) that they could have exploited. Mike Brown choked and the team suffered for it. He was scared to put the right (younger) players on the floor and spread things out.
Against Orlando last year he scored 49,35,41,44,37, and 25! He didn't play well? What is "well"? In the losses to Orlando he put up:
49, 8 and 6
41, 9 and 7
44, 7 and 12
25, 7 and 7
If any other player in the league put up those numbers during a series, muchless during the losses they would (rightfully) be touted as the next big thing.
Those numbers are facts and show he got it done. It wasn't his lack of performance that held the team back.
Who in this series of players was great and/or worth their salary?
1 Ben Wallace $14,500,000
2 LeBron James $14,410,581
3 Wally Szczerbiak $13,775,000
4 Zydrunas Ilgauskas $10,841,615
5 Mo Williams $8,353,000
6 Eric Snow $7,312,500
How about these guys?
1 Shaquille O'Neal $20,000,000
2 LeBron James $15,779,912
3 Antawn Jamison $11,641,095
4 Mo Williams $8,860,000
5 Anderson Varejao $6,300,000
6 Delonte West $4,254,250
Just what kind of numbers would Lebron have to put up to satisfy you? Why should he have to be the only player out of the ones you mentioned to win a championship without a hall of famer next to him or at least an all star or two?
