$16M over 4 years is $4M a year. Is that really going to make a big difference on who else they could sign?
Didn't Duncan do the same thing?
He didn't opt out though, he basically restructured. Same thing though

I believe 20m is max but if you resign with the same team they can offer more. Dirk could of signed for 24m with Dallas
LeBron James will announce his free agency decision on ESPN at 9:00 PM EST on Thursday.

I hope Kevin wins a few rings before Lebron.
I thought $16M was the max contract?
How does Amare get $100M over 5 for $20M per year? Is that back loaded or does he get more for being in the league longer?
Ah damn. I'm going to wager that Lebron stays in Cleveland. That means Chicago missed out on the run of tier 1 free agents. David Lee would be a good fit if they can get him. Great rebounder and a big guy that can shoot. He'd be a good bailout guy for Rose to dump to. Ray Allen would also be a nice grab if they can afford him to at least spread the floor a little more and give them an actual outside threat.
Lebron's ego is so big that...
I do hope Ilya Kovalchuk ends up rotting in Russia for 10M a year, though.
