LOL. You don't average damn near 30/7/9 for a season with a few blocks & steals mingled in there with "not great basketball skills".
his numbers are due to athleticism, which means strength, speed, size, jumping ability, body control, etc.
these are not skills specific to basketball.
he bulldozes his way into the lane with his speed, bumps his defender away with his size, absorbs the contact with his strength, maintains his balance with his body control and dunks it with his jumping ability.
AND he gets the benefit of the doubt the majority of the time on foul calls and gets away with all kinds of traveling.
bball specific skills are shooting, dribbling and passing.
his shot is awkward but improving.
his dribbling skills are average. but he doesn't have to dribble much because he takes such huge steps so his sub-par dribbling is not exploited as much as it could be.
he does have great court vision, i'll give him that, but his assists are helped greatly by how much attention he draws which leaves his teammates open for shots. he's also unselfish.
