is it just me or does Lebron look like hes getting old really fast. He better learn to play better basketball instead of just relying on his athleticism or hes going to decline, especially if he gets injured. Hes already peaked, so anybody that signs him to a big long contract now is getting him on the decline.

and you're right. lebron never had great basketball skills. his shot is so ugly, i'm amazed it goes in as often as it does.
he often dribbles off his foot and makes up names and excuses like 'crab dribble' to compensate for traveling all the time.

his numbers are due to athleticism, which means strength, speed, size, jumping ability, body control, etc.
these are not skills specific to basketball.

he bulldozes his way into the lane with his speed, bumps his defender away with his size, absorbs the contact with his strength, maintains his balance with his body control and dunks it with his jumping ability.
AND he gets the benefit of the doubt the majority of the time on foul calls and gets away with all kinds of traveling.

bball specific skills are shooting, dribbling and passing.
his shot is awkward but improving.
his dribbling skills are average. but he doesn't have to dribble much because he takes such huge steps so his sub-par dribbling is not exploited as much as it could be.
he does have great court vision, i'll give him that, but his assists are helped greatly by how much attention he draws which leaves his teammates open for shots. he's also unselfish.

No doubt his physical abilities provide him some significant advantages, but that's not all there is to it. There's lots of very athletic guys out there that don't come anywhere near what Lebron does. He knows how to use his body well. Don't forget the guy is 6'6" and over 250 pounds. He's built like an NFL linebacker. You just simply can't expect him to move as fluidly as a true point guard or sleek shooting guard.

Now onto free agency talk - reportedly the Hawks offered Joe Johnson 119 mil for 6 years. YIKES!

I wouldn't say he doesn't have any skills but hes not a great shooter or passer. Larry Bird couldn't jump as high or run as fast as Lebron but he had more skills. Lebron needs to get on a team with other good players that can share the load. Hes not going to be able to carry a team forever like he does now.

AWESOME! Now if the team can stay healthy they'll easily take the ring next season. Last season the only reason they lost was because Perkins being injury when they needed him the most. And 2 seasons ago KG out in the finals was the only reason they lost. A healthy Celtics wins it, I think Pierce has 1 more season in him. All they need is to stay injury free and the Lakers can suck it.

that article is trying to be funny I guess? it really fails since the guy is oblivious. seems pretty obvious that the grizzlies thought that another team would have offered him more, which definitely could have been likely considering the contracts some scrubs were getting, and the possibility of many free agents staying at home.
