who will get signed first?
nate robinson or richard jefferson?

RJ is such a moron. He opted out of what, a 15+ million contract thinking he'd get more. Then no one bit and now San Antonio came back and said "We'll give you 5 million".

LOL!

Ilgauskas the traitor! How could he leave Cleveland after 14 years?!? Oh wait, this isn't Lebron we are talking about, guess this means Z is an alright guy!

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5377012

I don't recall Z promising a championship to Cleveland and then leaving to join with 2 other all-stars before he had even hit his prime. Z also didn't completely keep quiet about his decision while giving out false info that he might be going to this and that team for months prior to his "Decision." Z has been good to Cleveland for 14 years and is well past his prime, I would love for him to get a ring before he retires, though his going to Miami makes me hope that he doesn't since him getting a ring means LeBron does also.

I'm not sure who was dumber, Atlanta giving Joe Johnson a max contract or Richard Jefferson opting out of his $13 million (i think that was the number) one?

RJ's was $15 million. He is maybe hoping for like a 4 year and $40 million deal but he won't get it.

you're an idiot.

anyway, i think RJ was hoping for a longer deal before the next CBA. Also, maybe he's buying into the Spurs for next year...most of the current Spurs have taken a pay cut or 2 in the past. Even if he gets less money but a longer contract, it would be worth it for him.

Richard Jefferson will be lucky to get the mid level exception from any team at this point. He'll have to play the next 3 years to get the 15 mil back. gotta love it when a guy making 15 mil in a year somehow convinces himself that's not enough money and it backfires.

I won't disagree that I'm an idiot by any means. You just go on pretending you're smart ok? It's entertaining for me at least.

Oh yeah, GO HEAT!!!!!!!

He didn't expect to match it. He was going for years over dollars. If he gets a 3 year deal locked in before the new CBA he'll make more than 15 total

I don't think he's an idiot; he just got some bad advice. Most people who pull this move (Baron Davis and Paul Pierce come to mind) were vital to their team's past success. If they didn't sign elsewhere for more money, they always had that fallback of going back to their old club.

Richard Jefferson, while physically still near his peak, had career low statistics last year. On top of that, since the Spurs didn't really want him back, he was operating without a safety net. It was a calculated risk, but a guy like him (who's banked $67m over his career) can afford to take it.

I mean shit, Joe Johnson got $120m. Other scrubs are getting $40-60m contracts. With so many teams possessing so much cap space, there was no reason for RJ to think he couldn't get a piece of that.

Lazy, ballhogging turnover machine. Well that's my opinion of him when he was in Indy and Atlanta. Don't know much about him when he played for GS and the Knicks.

he's got some game and some heart.
didn't appear to me as a lazy ball hog, but he does take lots of 3's. reminds me of a rasheed wallace without the temper.

didn't have many ill feelings towards him, and i'm usually very critical on players.

My basis was mostly from having him on some fantasy teams when he was with Indy & Atlanta...:O and watching him play a bit.

For a PF he doesn't rebound well, doesn't defend well, and just takes a lot of shots. And he'd kill my fantasy team with turnovers. He'd have a lot of 4,5,6 turnover games.

he had good footwork and moves for a big man and was unselfish in terms of being willing to come off the bench (which he did for the knicks in stretches).

he's a solid scorer and could put up 20/5/3 a night.

I love the idiots claiming RJ thought he could get more money, which is why he opted out of his contract.

I hope cp3 comes to NY, would be exciting since it would likely draw melo too.
