So yea ... pretty good stuff. definitely MUCH different than ssf4 and that alone is going to take some getting used to. inputs are quicker than most of the ssf4 combos so i gotta get used to that big time. also gotta get used to the button layout.

it is 4 button layout, 2 on top of eachother, then the 2 assist buttons. when i was doing missions (trials basically) i was hitting assist on accident a buncha times when trying to do the H Hadoken (thinking fierce punch). same thing when trying to do the L Tatsu ... kept pressing the S button since its in the same locatoin as LK on the SF layout.

but i like the flow and change of pace, and I finished ryu's missions. they get ridiculous as well, with the actions that you have to perform not even fitting on the screen, so it scrolls as you perform the move. it is kind of impossible to try reading it while doing the moves at the top of the list. luckily you can pause it and view the entire list before you attempt the combos.

all in all i'm enjoying it. i'm going to give it a solid go but can't really do much until I can play people online.

no clue, I am not even sure how to unlock em or anything. I only tried out like 3 characters (ryu, guy from ghost and goblins, and someone else), then tried trials with 1 of those 3 (ryu) then chun li then Chris Redfield.

i didn't have much time to mess around with it tonight but i will see if i can get some time tomorrow. i did get kind of sucked into the mission mode though because it was helping me get the timing down.

my CE is out for delivery now ... i too was contemplating getting rid of it heh, but i'm not strap for cash or anything so I think i'm going to keep it.

How is it compared to SF4? I'm very much not a competitive fighter. I like to either mess around and fight friends who are just as bad as I am, or fight the CPU. I generally really enjoy the Virtua Fighters and older DoA games and have been thinking about nabbing MvC3.

it is nothing at all like SF4 ... at all. it is much faster paced and much more masher friendly. that is not to say that it is an easy game though, it has a ton of depth and a lot of execution is required to do well at it. however there is even a simple mode where you literally have 1 attack button, and as you press it in a combo it changes to l,m,h attacks.

but it also is nothing at all like virtua fighter or doa imo. those are 3d fighters so that itself sets it in a different genre.

There are reports on Shoryuken of the PS3 version having slowdown during some specials and at some points dropping frames altogether. I didn't see anything about the 360 version.

I haven't tried them myself so this is just based off threads on SRK.

just picked up the strategy guide at gamestop on my lunch break ... this thing looks and feels like a fuckin text book holy crap! it puts the sf4 and ssf4 ones to freaking shame.

they only had like 5 of them left, not sure how many each store got. and i really wish gamestop did not put their damn price stickers right on the actual cover...

I hear the guide is awesome. I've also heard the slowdown appears to be random and occurs on both consoles. I'm gonna also forget about selling/buying or whatever and just enjoy the game, no biggie. Amazon had more SE versions available for both 360 and PS3 earlier today, they still might. Too bad im gonna be at university until friday and cant play since my man cave is at home, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Any impressions? I really really wish there was a vs. CPU option for my nephews.
