but collector SMG...what? where do you get that?
It comes with the Katsumi DLC.

the collector assault rifle is epic. it's basically the damage of the vindicator but with a faster ROF and a shitpile of ammo. if you're playing soldier, it's the weapon of choice. on lower difficulty levels, you won't even need your teammates.

oh, and speaking of voices, what the fuck was with that hock guy? he sounded like a mix of equal parts scottish, russian, and retard.
LOL, I had the same reaction. At first I thought it was Scottish, but then he talks more and it just sounds like some Scottish guy trying to do a Russian accent .
So Overlord DLC hit XBL earlier this week. Being a ME2 fan, I immediately downloaded it and... what a blast! Well written, plenty of fights, some M-44 driving and shooting and jumping (which is actually fun now). The story and graphics are homage to another great game imo,(tags as to not spoil the story, perhaps). Anyway, best DLC for ME2 without a doubt. It's way way better than the boring Firewalker and only mildly entertaining Kasumi's Memories. Also, somewhat longer Highly recommended!System Shock 2
Nice... makes me want to buy it right now.
But, I'm gonna hold off until most of the DLCs are released so I can play it all on one playthrough.
BTW, how long would you say the DLC is?
As for waiting, it's my 6th playthrough And there will probably be more So it's not like I'm missing out on anything. Also you can always play your other characters, that already finished the main plot. The game doesn't force you to finish after the main story line. Or start with them again on a higher difficulty (if you didn't start with Insanity). I did that with the Soldier (was my first char so no DLC actually and now I'm replaying with him on Insanity).
I just started ME2 myself, good game so far although I'm already toand I'm still not quite sure what's going on!the planet where the Collectors attack Ashley
I don't like the relative lack of weapons thus far and while scanning planets for resources was actually alot of fun at first it lost it's loster after the 30th planet...
Still, fun so far, hate that I only rented it and will have to return it next week, especially since I'm gone all weekend and can't play.
I just started playing this a couple days ago. Seems OK so far, but which moron decided they needed to add ammo to the system? It adds nothing to the game other than a requirement to run around after a fight and find the shit people dropped. I loved the lack of ammo in ME1. Also, they could have simply fixed the inventory system rather than scrapping it entirely. Seems like for everything they improved (no more elevators or wandering aimlessly in the Mako) they screwed something else up (requiring ammo and a pathetic skill tree)
I'm playing the Infiltrator I imported from ME1 and so far it's not nearly as much fun. The SMG blows, IMO, and the pistol and sniper rifle run out of ammo so fast it's ridiculous.
Didn't play Vanguard. Not planning on doing it
You're missing out. I've played through as a Soldier, a Sentinel, and a Vanguard, and Vanguard was by far the most challenging and the most fun. It's challenging because you don't have a whole lot of health like the Sentinel, and you don't have access to the ARs like the Soldier, so your initial firepower is lacking. But once you level up your phase-charge and get a shotgun, it's ridiculous. You just Jedi-warp-slam into dudes faces and give 'em buck shot at close range. So gratifying.
God how i wish this game was available for the PS3....i LOVE RPGs and i LOVE first person shooters...and this game is a great combination of both...any ideas out there of which PS3 games are most like Mass Effect 2 so that I can try to get my fill?
