Oups, I meant No One Left Behind... I think I chose to keep on building loyalty, but I was only missing Legion's at the time. I could not save the crew's psychologist (forgot her name) nor the girl in the engine room. So I get that if I'd gone directly through the relay, I would have been able to save most of them? Oh well, I'm already playing a new play through anyway so I'll correct that.

I had done all of the loyalty missions including Legion before going for the IFF. Unfortunately, I must have chosen my leaders improperly because Legion died as the tech specialist because I chose Samara to lead the other group instead of a leader character. Then Jack died while she was the biotic with the second group. Finally Mordin died during the final battle. I was reading about that part and it sounds like he may have died because I didn't have enough firepower with that group, with two dead and having sent Zaeed back with the crew.

See, I also didn't take into account different people's strengths and weaknesses for the final battle (didn't realize it was important). Tali and Thane died on the Normandy when we were attacked, Mordin died in the beginning whilst opening the door, Grunt died as "the distraction," Legion died when he was in my squad (not sure why), Jack died holding our position whilst we were fighting the boss, and Garrus died after the boss...I coulda sworn that someone else died as well with Jack. Maybe Jacob died as well...hrm.

Anyways, apparently my methods were terrible.

Wow, my first playthrough I had everyone live, except Thane. I reloaded, and went back and had all live for ME3.

Yes, I started up my female renegade biotic in ME1. Eventually I'll play through as a male renegade tech and a female paragon soldier. There doesn't appear to be an advantage to playing a neutral character, so I won't bother with that. I'm doing this next playthrough on veteran so I can unlock hardcore for the tech, then someday maybe I'll open insanity to play as the soldier. That's a lot of ME.

I just beat it on insanity last night after playing through on normal. It wasnt brutally hard, but you had to play it very careful. I dont think I could have done it without the geth shield boost mapped to a bumper, and the infiltrator sniper slowdown also helped a great deal.

So far I did a male paragon soldier in ME1 that I uploaded to ME2 and played through. I think next I'll try a female renegade biotic character and play through both games. Soldier seems to work pretty well for me though.

I've actually never played any classes other than soldier. I've played through ME1 four times and ME2 twice. Female soldier every single time. I just don't like the thought of using levitate etc... It doesn't sound very fun.

Argh stupid DLC. I knew I was going to be bored so I brought my HD from the xbox at my gf's place over to my house. Forgot the wireless dongle but no big deal I'll just play offline. Wrong. I can't even load my saved games because of the damned DLC. Anyone know of a way around this or am I just screwed?

Fired up ME2 again last night and downloaded Overlord. Started a new character to play through all over again.

I did not realize that they had fixed mining sometime in May! Holy crap, it makes the mineral collecting part of the game so much less tedious .

They improved the mining? That's awesome! I need to get whatever the latest DLC is start a new game. It'll be my 3rd playthrough I think?

Have they improved anything else? I always felt much of the armor and weapon bonuses were just so weak.

Yeah, they fixed a bunch of bugs. The one thing I noticed last night was the squad members overwriting team ammo power bug was fixed.

They did not change any of the armor and weapon bonuses/upgrades as far as I know.

This will be my fourth play through - playing as a male paragon engineer. I'm using the Blood Dragon Armor just for the hell of it, since I never used it before, so I don't have to worry about buying any of the armor upgrades .

Well, it seems there's a semi-decent armor set DLC (Aegis pack), so maybe I'll try that.

I'm tempted to start a female character, but never played one in ME1. IIRC, the default "new" character for ME2 assumes some heavily pro-human decisions for the back-story. We'll see how that goes. Could be a good start for a hardcore renegade/pro-human character.

I actually prefer the female Shepard voice acting to the males. I also prefer to play the females as renegade and males as paragon. I don't know what that says about me

You are correct about the default new character being heavy pro-human.

With the shield, weapon and melee damage boosts, I see it being especially useful for Vanguards (but I already did one of those :hmm

I know I'm a little late to the party, but started the game about a month ago and finished it today. Was able to keep the entire team alive and was able to plug Miranda before the final battle. Thought it was funny that she was wearing lacy lingerie under her suite. Guess she stopped at Victoria's Secret when we visited the Citadel.

In a moment of alcohol induced weakness, I broke down and bought the Firepower and Aegis packs last night. It looks like I'll be starting another play-through this weekend .

Tempted to do another playthrough myself since I can't afford another game right now. I've only played ME1 and ME2 as a soldier, never tried another class. Can't decide what class I want to try.
