OMG, the DIGITAL ORGASM!!! That made history there!

I thought it started out slow, and I thought the church ceremony/rave was a little whack. Did they go overboard on the FX?

I enjoyed it, though...need to see it again to catch it all.

So what's the deal with Neo being able to stop the Sentinels as if he was "in" the Matrix when he's
out in the "real" world??

the real world is a secondary program to contain the humans who got out of the 1st world.

they only thought they were free from the machine and had their real bodies, but they werent. even in their "real" world, they were still within the computer program.

NEO was the 6th one that tried to shut down the machine and save what he thoguht was his real world. but in actuality, he realized the "real" world was another computer program, thus he had power over it.

Thanks dude - Now I won't have to spend another 9 bux just to watch the Architech talk for another 10 mins.

i am not so sure of this because i dont if it was another program i dont think that they should care what neo does or if zion falls at all because it would just be another matrix

Also, did anyone else find it hilarious that the evil guy (the debil) was French? hahahah
Speaking of that guy, what's his role now? Is he overwith? It seems as though he should be, because he was the protector of the key maker, but his exit would make you think otherwise...

Personally I think we are done with him. If his role is the evil man meaning Satan, which I think he is (made the chick have an orgasm? yeah, that's the devil for you), I think his role in the film is over, here's why. The last thing that he said to Neo was, "You can't kill me." Satan can definitely not be defeated, not even by God (Neo).

ok, if Neo is god, and the french guy is Satan, then what's the religions symbolizm of the Architect?!

and when is the "last flight of Osiris" suppose to come out?

Well there were references to the number 3 a couple of time, I'm thinking the holy trinity, father son holy spirit. I think Neo is Jesus, while the architect is actually a visual representation of God. To see God (the architect [of the world?]), Neo had to pass through the door. What door? To heaven I suppose.

Yep, just got back from a 10:30 showing, and man was that intense. It really didn't hit me quite as hard as I had hoped, but it was still a really good movie. I can't wait to see how everything plays out...and I'm pissed that we didn't say through the credits. doh! Guess I'll do that the next time I see it.

But as for Neo's coma, I think he did indeed develop abilities outside of the Matrix and in the "real world", since an EMP should've had the same effect on the sentinals as in the first movie, which it didn't, it looked much more it was due to him. And for a ship to release an EMP, it has to have all electrical systems offline (like the first one), and they were too close to the Nebuchadnezzar ...they would've known one another were there, I think.

So much to say... I'm gonna sit and ponder for a bit.

all in all, it was definitely worth seeing and i'll be sure to see it a second time.

and yeah, that rave scene was ridiculously long.

Well, for one, this one didn't have an ending, so of course it's going to have a lot of unanswered questions. If they answered all the questions, what would they need the third installment for?

That would be like me knocking LOTR because we don't find out if the ring gets destroyed. I mean come on, it's a trilogy - You can't go into it thinking you're going to get an end-all be all conclusion.

I think the rave scene was like that for a reason. The Wachowskis have shown they don't do something without a good reason - Perhaps there is a method to their madness.

definitely true that questions should be left unanswered. forgive me for being unclear, however, what i meant was that i just didn't have a good grasp of what was actually happening. the oracle's talk with neo as well as the architects talks were all pretty convoluted to me.

but yeah i also agree with you that wachowski bros are doing that (as well as the rave scene) totally on purpose. perhaps it is to drive to watch it a second time? or to drive us to discuss on anandtech?

but i still can't figure out why they would do the rave scene? to emphasize the contradiction between the humanity and the real world which is actually not really what they think it is?

yeah, they went overboard w/the fx. the fight scene w/the pole was non-life like CGI. you could tell by his face that it was computer generated

dont just copy/paste a scene from the video game!

maybe it was a filler and time to pump the music so ppl will buy the soundtrack. it is after all, just business.

No that wasn't Mouse. Mouse was on a crew before, the kid said he wasn't (I thought it might be Mouse too, until I heard that).
It's in the Animatrix - "Kid's Story" -the one with the kid falling off the building

Yeah I'm somewhat confused also. Maybe because Agent Smith crossed the boundary between the dream world and the real world, it caused some sort of rift in the distinction between the two. And that's why Neo stopped the Sentinels.

Some of the philosophical dialogues seemed kind of awkward... and almost too contrived

also, IMO... Matrix = Disney's Alice; Reloaded = Lewis Caroll's Alice

Anyone notice this?....

When Trinity justs starts driving the Caddy CTS (/w Morpheus and Keymaker) it's manual transmission. Later on the freeway, there is a scene with one of the twins and the camera shows the Caddy having an auto tranny now! Wow

I thought the movie moved the plot along quite well. The first movie was solely about the Matrix. We learned about the system and the agents being the gatekeepers etc. etc. Reloaded was all about Zion. We met the people of Zion, know what it looks like and how it works, and we now have a deadline for something to happen, or the human race is done. Sets up the final movie perfectly. Going to wrap up all loose ends, can't wait.

Along those lines, a police cruiser can not keep up with a Ducati on a straight away. Also, when Morphus and the agent are fighting on top of the semi with the keymaker, why doesn't the other agent morph into the driver of that semi and just take it to hell? just something i thought of as i watched it.

Like explaining temporal theory in Star Trek, some things got confusing: 6 Neos had visited the Architect before but each reacted differently? Everything, Architect, Oracle, Agents, Police, Keymaster, is a software program, yet they are bound (except the Twins which are something else) by walls, doors, etc?

As for the references to the Bible, I noticed those too.

actually the video game has nothing to do with neo (though i know what you meant, lol). it tells a story of what happens after the final flight of the osiris and before reloaded.

ehm...i just got back from the 10:00 showing. they had it on 3 screens and those became so overcrowded that they actually opened up another one. my friends and i were lucky enough to get into the new one, so it wasn't nearly as crowded.

i thought the movie opened up kind of slow and disappointing. it slowly got better. most of the fight scenes were good, though i thought a few of them looked too "forced." some of the cgi was a little overboard as well.

if i would have known they were going to end it like that with a "to be concluded" i would have saved my money and just watched it right before revolutions. now i am just going to be pissed off for 6 months waiting for the end. those greedy bastards in hollywood!

Honestly... I expected more. It was good and worth the price of admission, but it did NOT blow me away.
The fights make this movie... although I was amazed that you could tell CGI work, not well hidden!

I have mixed emotions like everyone else about it - great on some levels, crappy on others. The character/plot development was lacking though.

I have a question - when that last ship picked up Neo - had Zion already been attacked and destroyed, and the survivors part was them looking for anyone alive? I didn't get what they meant.

And where when he was talking to the architect the reference to the real world being another computer program? It seems to make sense what Jedi said - that's how he knew the Sentinel thing was a bomb - but I don't understand that particular part. And did the twins die?

Like Star Wars, they went overboard on the CGI. The first Matrix movie had a proper balance, but it was also fresh then. Also, where were the guns in this movie? Lots of martial arts and sword play, but no lobby scene!!!

Plus, Trinity and Morpheus faired better against the newer agents.... recall the morpheus line, "everyone that has ever faced an agent, everyone that has stood their ground, died. But where they failed you will succeed..." Agent smith took care of morpheus quickly in matrix 1. Yet now, Morpheus kicked some ass against the upgraded agent.

maybe after watching neo do it their minds became more "free" so they were able to stand their ground against an agent.

From what I understood, the ship that picked up Neo + friends were searching for survivors from the counter-attack that Zion had sent out.

The guy with the "Agent Smith virus" was the only survivor which was found.
