Mayweather didn't win by much, but I don't know anyone who thought Pac won, anyone sane at least...

Lameweather is still a woman beating pile of useless dog shit, hope he ends up broke down the road. He did win the fight in his typical boring fashion. I spent ZERO to watch it, so I WON.

I agree to disagree. Lots of people on other chatboards think Pac won. It was a close fight, however, any way you cut it. It was Pac by more than a hair imho.

At the end of the day, who gives a fuck.

Boxing is the most corrupt sport in the world this side of being "entertainment" WWE.

I won too. I ain't paying for this patty cake overhyped bs...which it turned out to be. Let someone else pay, I'll bring the six pack.

Well, I only saw the last round so I can't speak to how the whole fight went, but sounds like it was typical Mayweather. Elusive, to say the least and scoring with "points" that don't necessarily satisfy the boxing community because they're more "points" than "punches".

That said, I liked the interview w/ Pac.

"You knew he would move outside coming into the fight so didn't you have something planned to attack that?"

and

"Why didn't you attack more like the Pac of the past?"

Sounds like Pac had 2 opportunities to do better in this fight & didn't pursue either one.

Pac's just happy he has generational money for his kin for the next 500 years.

Floydie will be bankrupt eventually and be the Greeter at the Bellagio when I visit in 20 years.

He fights nothing like late Ali though. Mayweather doesn't do rope-a-dope.

That wasn't how Ali fought all those fights, except for one notable fight (which was at the tail end of his prime years, at 33) and then sporadically in others. But it's exactly the same methodology. They have no power left, but they're still faster than most contenders, so they cover up 90% of the time, showing all gloves and elbows. Then flick jabs and the occasionally right hand, all from looong distance. Win a decision, go cash the check.

Thus why boxing is in such a bad state. The supposedly #2 boxer in the world couldn't even get him nervous except for that one good punch.

Another reason why MMA is the sport of the future.

All these athletic lightweights need to get down and dirty to really know who the better fighter is.

All this point scoring system is so bullshit.

Reminds me of the Hagler/Leonard fight where Hagler was the CLEAR better fighter but lost on Leonard's pussy pinball-like point "touches".

....If this was a street fight brawl, Pac would win...easily (btw, I have no dog in this fight as I don't give a shit about either of them).
MMA is dead. The sport of the future is Kickboxing. Glory FTW!

Apparently you've never seen a Mayweather fight before. It clearly works for him.

Mma is so much better. This fight was a prime example. Head locks whenever PAC got close? In mma now we are on the mat and I am hammer pounding your face.

I paid $0 and still feel somewhat cheated.

I've seen Mayweather fight before, (for free of course), and this is exactly what I expected of out him. Zzzzzzzz......

I'll take UFC any day....

This is me, to a t. With UFC, you don't have to skip around to find a passable feed. I was down to my fiancee translating a spanish language feed at the end of the fight...

This this this. Floyd played the rules to his advantage, and as a fight fan I blame the rules more than Floyd. I blame floyd for the whole domestic violence thing, though.

Boxing should really give warnings for running away and then take points off to weed out defensive specialists. Defensive specialists usually are really great boxers as evident by Mayweather, but I'm not going to pay to watch them. Shame is Mayweather is really fast so he'd be really entertaining to watch if he fought toe to toe like Pac does.

No it wasn't a close fight, not at all. Look at the Compubox stats, Mayweather out landed Pacman by a sizable amount in power punches and jabs. Floyd just did everything better.

I laugh at all the people crying about how all Floyd does is run, he out strikes and lands better shots overall. The fact he can throw more punches than whoever he fights, and get hit less really speaks on his skill level.

Manny Pacquiao threw 429 punches in total, six punches less than Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s 435. The latter also connected more punches, according to Compubox statistics: Mayweather landed 34 percent of his punches while Pacquiao landed only 19 percent.

Money was about 2 dozen shots from out-landing Pac 2:1.

from Compubox

Mayweather also connected more power punches: 48 percent over Pacquiao's 27 percent.

So it wasn't just jab jab jab, If he did jack in your eyes, then that means Pac did even less than jack, just saying...

Bottom line Mayweather schooled him, and Pac like everyone else who's fought him was unable to figure out anything that works. Money treated him like a sparring partner. It's crazy the skill level difference between the 2, and Pac's one of best of the last decade. Which makes the skill level difference even more nuts. Looks like Khan might be Floyd's last fight, and there's no chance of Amir winning that one.

If anyone is to blame for this loss its Manny. He completely played into Mayweather's game because he was too cautious of Mayweather's counter punches. Manny should have attacked like how he normally does. He might have got caught but he wouldn't have been dominated like this. Cotto and Maidana did damage to Mayweather bringing the fight to him.

Looks like Floyd was cheating quite a bit with punches in the clinch, headlocks, and even some light armbarring in one of the clinches.

Actually most boxing experts see it exactly the opposite as you just described. Speed goes first and power is the last thing to go. George Foreman has no problem knocking people out in his late 30's comeback for one example.

The reason boxers, especially champions generally have less KO's later in their career is because they are fighting better opponents. Even in MMA you'll see the champion's KO, TKO, and submission train slow when they become champion. GSP, Jones, Hendricks, even Aldo don't have the finishes they did on their way to the top.
