It's the same cluster that's in the regular e55... my boss has one and trust me, it's freakin sweet looking in person.

MB designs have always been pretty pleasing to the eye....you must be thinking about BMW, with their bangled-up new models.

C, CL , CLK, E, SLK, SL, S, ML, G
plus all the AMG variants
now they gonna add CLS, another mid-SUV, and maybe the B class??

Not to mention the trucks and other vehicles they happen to sell in Europe.

edit: By the way, I love the exterior design. Reminds me of the new Infinit M45 from the front and Jag S-type from the rear. Nice flow from bumper to bumper. Thumbs up, though I question the usefulness of this "coupe" slotted below the S-class.

I don't think that's "waaaay too many" IMO, they don't have any more cars/trucks than say, Toyota.
There's one car to compete with just about every segment in the market. Who wouldn't want their hands in all of the honey pots? As long as each of their segments is making money!

meh, not too crazy about it. Don't like the headlights or the "swooshy" look it has, although it looks nice from the back. I'd still take one for free though Actually, I shouldn't say that. I don't like the way it looks in the first pic, but the second one looks great.

Yeah, there are some people out there who can't tell what year a BMW is. Like that guy who rammed into my girl's 92 525i where she pleaded "I just got this car!" and he replied with "Hey I'm really sorry, is this an '02?".

Nice... and remember, most MB owners buy a MB because it offers luxury + decent performance. they are not looking for your *OH MY GOD I AM A MAN THAT I CAN TALK ABOUT MANUAL* transmission. My dad drove a manual for 20 years before he bought his S320 and he is loving every single auto-shift of it
