MGS4 comes with MGO. At least, an MGO "starter pack". I don't think any other plans have been announced (i.e., if a separately released MGO title will be released) yet. It looks like expansion packs will be released, perhaps as DLC (maybe even physical as well)?

If the PMC Mercenaries have nanobots that let their commanders see their status at ALL times... then how is it possible for snake to take them out undetected? Wouldn't he be detected no matter what? Wouldnt the commander at least note the fact that soldiers are starting to drop in a pattern?

Can you pause during cut scenes, codec conversations, etc. (at any point in the game)? This was the most frustrating part to me in the past, because when interrupted I had no way of pausing the game.

Yes, you can hit Start during a cutscene and it gives you the option to skip or continue.


BTW, just passed ACT I, what an awesome game so far!

I just entered Act 2 and I would already start over to play that level again--so awesome!

If you thought Act 1 was good, Act 2 is beyond fantastic. Especially the end of Act 2 after one slightly boring stretch. This game has an intensity that can blow away Call of Duty 4.

All skippable. Infact, you can now fastforward and rewind them as well.

But what about pausing? If you rewind or fast forward, does that include audio, or does it go into text-only mode like it did in the past?

I'm pretty impressed so far - I need to learn the controls better so I can actually pat down guards instead of shooting them in the face.

I feel really lucky that I scored an 80gb PS3 bundle - I read somewhere that Sony wasn't producing any more of them. There may be more that haven't shipped yet, but I guess they don't intend on making it a long-term SKU like the Motorstorm bundle was.

just got my copy of MGS4 today. I've never played any of the prior games. However... I'm only about and hour or 2 in but this game is freaking fantastic. I have never played anything like this to date.

I do have to say that the controls take a little getting use to. That's the main thing I have been struggling with so far.

So far, this game has been 'meh' for me. It seems like the length of the cutscenes fall between MGS2 and MGS3. I'll reserve my judgment until I finish the game. Currently, playing through the obligatory 'man the mounted gun on top of the vehicle' level.
