anybody watching the world baseball classic?
Slightly confused as to why NYY fans such as yourself consider Cano "useless" when he would have been AL MVP if Trout and Cabrera were in the NL last year...
Not a chance. His home run totals are mediocre, his RBI totals have been declining for 5 years, his runs scored are down year over year, he hasn't stolen a base in 3+ years, his defensive statistics are mediocre at base (again, declining since 5 years ago,) his ability to make meaningful hits is terrible, and the list goes on.
I don't understand why people are saying he'll get a $250m 10-year contract. He's not that good. He's not even half that good.
...Hes unable to disclose his sources, but Joes been right about this type of news before. A full month before the suspension became official last summer, Joes anonymous source correctly identified Melky Cabrera as the next big name to be slapped with the 50 game fine.
Maybe I'm missing something..

His RBI's went down last year, but were highest 2 years ago (not even close to declining over the last 5 years)...he's stolen a few bases...career high in runs scored last year
I dunno, I'd love to have .313, 33, 94
Then again, I'm a Mariners fan and those numbers would be astronomical compared to who we've got.
yankees season is already looking bleak, this will add to it big time if true
Not after the stupidity that were the Pagan/Scutaro contracts... lulz
I'd rather have Jeter numbers than Cano numbers, by a long way. Especially in defense.
The last two years, Cano has been completely incapable of driving in runs when needed. He should be batting 6th or 7th, as he seems to only get hits when the bases are empty.

He hit 33 home runs last year and had 94 RBIs and 105 runs. Those aren't even close to MVP numbers.
All in all he had his best year by far as a Yankee.
And it was still mediocre at best. That's inarguable.
Also, two and three years ago when Brett Gardner's WAR was off the charts, I'm willing to bet that you were right there along with most everyone else saying he was overrated.
Stats can say whatever you want them to. That's their nature.
I'll be glad to see Cano gone.
he was never part of the plans for this year anyhow. they were trying to find some team ( sucker ) to trade him too. they have good pitching it is the outfiled that worries melol, Santana's already out for the year.
What happens when a team goes beyond funny, sad, ridiculous, cursed...
I mean, what happens next? A plane crashes into Citi field? Jesus Christ, just move the team to Guadeloupe already.
