Cliff Lee pitches a DOMINANT complete game. Wow.
I still can't believe the Phillies lost last night. Even with the Damon hit, Lidge gets out of that jam more often than not (probably around 60% of the time).
Damn, what a terrible way to lose.
edit: lost in that loss though was Pedro Feliz's clutch hitting. Hats off to him for delivering when it mattered.
Next game? Optimist.Agreed. The Phils rely on timely hitting and it isn't happening at all right now.
It's funny to think that if Chase doesn't hit 2 off CC in Game 1, Cliff's gem is wasted (like Pedro's was) and the series is already over.
AJ vs Pettite tonight. Will it be Hamels or Pedro for the next game?
Even then they will need to win one more.Hopefully Lee gets them back into it, I don't think AJ will be as good as he was last game. But then it's gonna take a miracle to get the next two

I admit I am hoping the Yankees win it at home.
In the first innings it appeared CC didn't have much of a fastball going on 3 days rest and I was thinking it was a bad idea starting him.should've gone lee on 3 days rest. now he's burnt for the rest of the series after tonight.

He really gutted it out without his best stuff.
I was thinking the same thing. So what happens now? Lee, Pedro.... Blanton? I wouldn't put Hammels back on the mound. Unless the Phillies' bats get moving, it won't matter anyway after tonight.
I wonder if Manuel would pitch Happ.
