I'm definitely an achievement whore/perfectionist with most games but I don't think I could possibly play MW2 multiplayer long enough to get them! It doesn't hold my interest for very long.

I'm more concerned with getting the callsigns/icons than prestiging - it just so happens that I must prestige to get the callsigns and icons. I'm only missing 4 of the animated kill streak icons, the rest are just situational gravy

Played one round this morning before work on Estate. 39-0-3. Started off 25-0, wouldn't have been able to get my nuke though (I'm currently set up with Predator-Harriers-Chopper Gunner) as my Predator got 1 for me.

M16 w/EOTech, Javelin (I never used it), Claymore, Scavenger Pro, Stopping Power Pro, Ninja Pro.

I got my first 8 or so kills assaulting the boathouse-side of the building (they had lots of bad snipers and overall un-stealthy guys). Then I ran through the house, found a safe place to call in my harriers and Predator, got my chopper gunner, ran upstairs and lay down in the bathtub.

I cannot emphasize how bad I am with chopper gunner. I've no clue how people get 9-10 kills with it, I think I maybe got 5...Pave Low and AC-130 I do much better with. Anyways, finished that off, ran back out to the front of the house to the little half wall near the car and got a few more long-range kills. Finally I was killed from behind while killing a different guy.

Lots of fun, while I don't think I played fantastically or anything I did alright. The other team just couldn't coordinate. I don't think I saw more than one guy at a time the entire game, they sort of split up and it's easy to pick people off 1 at a time.

Kill ratio is up to 2.08, having taken ~3 weeks off from the game I'm surprised I didn't start out slow...guess an elephant never forgets or something.

Still haven't seen any "ice skating" or speed glitching or whatever. We did see a guy with a glitched name last night...an MLG guy.

Pardon my rant but has anyone EVER met a nice MLG person? Literally, I don't think I ever have. I had one MLG guy who got mad at me in CoD 4 and sent me several threatening messages (said he would rape my mom, hack my account, kill my friends, etc), I've seen a ton of them who do nothing but talk crap the entire match (mostly little kids), I've seen cheaters and glitchers galore...just once I'd like to meet a decent guy.

im positive none of those people are really associated with the mlg overall.

Many of those I've played have MLG in their gamertag, not just as a gamer picture.

i understand. its really not hard to put it in your tag. kids want to be linked to something 'cool' easiest way to do that is just to pretend.

i mean we could all do the gamertag reset and just add mlg..

look back in the old halo days with the ogre twins and those clans. everyone would just add things to their names to pretend they were them are part of the clan.

thats why alot of them change alot.

Played a decent amount this weekend, up to a 2.10 kill ratio (hit that this morning before work). Highlights include a game on Estate where I spawned on the Speznas size and fired an RPG (w/Danger Close) down the hill killing 3 guys in the first few seconds of the game. The rest of the match was actually pretty horrible but that moment made up for it.

Went 35-3 on Terminal, 27-2 on Scrapyard (on someone else's account! ) and had an overall solid weekend. BFBC2 should arrive today or tomorrow, I'll give it a whirl but I'm pretty sure it won't take up much of my MW2 time.

Also, I don't know what all the complaints are about but in the hours I played this weekend I didn't see a single cheater...other than the guy with the glitched name on Thursday I haven't seen any skating or anything at all. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Played a good bit this weekend with the ACR with the grenade launcher and the thumper as my secondary with Danger Close.

I'm sure people were getting tired of it, but I was doing pretty well with that setup on Afgan and of course Wasteland.

i totally felt the same way until i tried it with the silencer.
it owns hard with the silencer, there's super reduced recoil for me.

if i use any other attachment, the ak sucks

I have fully come to realize how you guys do so well (K/D ratio wise) - Killstreak Rewards.

Had 3 good games in a row this w/e all by getting the Killstreak Rewards. I have always known this was the way but never really got to experience it til now. I ALWAYS seem to get killed at kill #4 (I am set for Predator, Harrier, Pave-Low).

But 3 times this w/e I was on the money.

Game 1 Underpass - muddling along ok but as usual get popped at kill 3 or 4 no KS. Finally right at the end I went on a tear and got 5 in a row by tagging a group of 3 campers. Bang Predator comes down and gets 2, bang Harriers come in and get 2 more, Bang call in the Pave-Low to tear it up ... but what happens game over .. rats!! Went like 15 and 8 here.

Game 2 Afghan - same as above but got it going early enough to do some serious damage and win the game for my team. Harrier and Pavelow just tore it up to knock them all out. went 27 and 12 here

Game 3 - Scrapyard I think -- was getting destroyed every 2 seconds but finally managed a nice run because 3 guys decided to cluster up going into a hangar and bang all 3 guys in row right at the door, predator gets 1, I get another harrier comes in gets 2, pave low comes in. We ended up losing since my whole teams was just terrible but I was racking up the Kills at the end. wen 22-18 (I was something like 2 and 14 before the KS rewards hit).


Clearly I need to string my kills together to do better but I just seem to get it right at the end, arrgggh!!

That's a big part of it, the other part is (once again) knowing when to pick your fights. Once again, just because you see a guy doesn't mean you have you shoot at him. If he doesn't know where you are move up to get a better angle on him and then engage.

I can't tell you the number of times I've fled from a fight I wasn't sure about. Then again, the majority of the time I'm already in a tactically advantageous" position to begin with so there's no need to move.

Played a game last night on Derailed...the best game I had ever played. I started off 28-0. Tar-21 w/EOTech (not sure what compelled me to use it but I shant complain), Scavenger Pro, Stopping Power Pro, Ninja Pro, Claymore, Stun Grenade. I was by myself in the middle building absolutely owning.

...

And my connection drops. It counted all my kills/KD and such but the game was barely half over and I didn't get to extend my streak (I'd never been that high before!!).

I played for the first time in a couple weeks last night (been wrapped up with AvP). Man my first round blew. 0 kills. It was the next round or the one after that I recovered. My K/D is never good, I need to work on my strategy there, but I was back to my old self.

I need more time in the day...

Long time reader here, but I don't comment much (as you can see). I played a bit yesterday, and I was terrible. My K/D is at 1.15, and went down yesterday. Every game was filled with either noob-tubers, knifers, or hackers. XBox 360, by the way. I should have stopped playing long before I did, but oh well. It's good to see at least a couple people had good games yesterday.

You had alot of hackers in-game? I haven't seen any in a while (minus the guy with the hacked name). Noob tubers are nothing to worry about typically. Knifers can be annoying but as long as you're prepared you should be alright. My KDR is up to 2.11 now (due to the above mentioned 28-0 game...), it's just about playing smart.

Noob tubers? That might be me. I love Scavenger & Danger Close with the SCAR. I'm still trying out new weapons, like the M16 or the TAR.

Problem is I am not accurate at all with the controller. I'm practicing on that, but lately it seems a lot of people like to camp in their selected positions or drop into prone in a tough to see spot. With lots of people doing that shit, I whip out the M203 and the aforementioned perks.

And I agree Kabob, strategy can play a role. It needs to play more of one in my game play, and maybe my K/D will improve

Yep found a new camping spot from someone the other day I had never seen before (nor knew was even possible)

Estate -- back of the house left side (if you are facing the front) under the damn deck. I spotted a guy crawling on the ground near there and assumed he was on final stand. Turns out he was crawling under the deck. I watched him for a second and saw what he was doing. Ran up and shot him (he never saw me). I went about my business and then about a min later I said let me check that spot .... bang there he was again ... bang I killed him. So for the rest of the game I would just run by there every so often and kill him again LOL. Did this about 5 more times before he decided not to stay there anymore.

2nd spot on Estate that I should have seen before but never paid attention to is on top of the greenhouse. 2 guys spent most of the game there until me and another teammate killed them off several times.

The under the deck one was by far the most clever I had seen yet.

SCAR +M203 + AT4 w/Danger Close is one of my favorite "cheapo" setups. I'll run it on Terminal or Estate (Estate is the best, spawn on the Speznas spot, aim down the hill, fire, hopefully get 2 kills in the first few seconds). Typically I run an M4 though. Ya know, as much as I know that the ACR is a better weapon than the M4 I prefer the later overall, I finally decided. I'm not sure what it is but I think I do better with it even though it has worse range and is less accurate...

It takes some getting used to playing with a controller. Honestly I'm really not the most accurate guy, you just sorta get used to it though.

I took over 3 weeks off from playing (I too have alot of other stuff I wanted to play) but I jumped right back in. MUCH less cheating (I haven't seen any). I'm at lvl 68 now on my 2nd prestige and trying to get to 71 so I can start over.

Hehehe, I love doing this. Some people just don't learn. They pick these cheap-shot spots and try to nail people in the nuts as they go by. I drop in a grenade

I have a class similar to that, though I tend to switch the rifle pretty often depending on how I'm feeling that day. I use the Thumper until I get the RPG. I usually do pretty bad on Wasteland with all the snipers and whatnot, but I've had a few 30+ kill games with the M203/RPG/Scavenger/Danger Close setup.

Meh, I don't like the thumper. The AT4 is more accurate than the RPG and has better range than the M203/Thumper (ok, not better range, but more controllable). Thumper aims weird and takes too long to fire if you're not already aiming.

should i even bother getting this game if my internet connection isnt absolutely awesome? for some reason i get such crappy reception in my HT room.
