Run a wired connection instead? I knocked a hole in the wall to pass a cable through, works great. Is that not possible? You might also consider setting up a wireless bridge with a WRT54G or something.

oddly enough, if i set up connectify on my laptop and connect through the laptop, everything works, but i dont know if that internet speed would be sufficient for the game.

a cable would have to be sooo long and although id love to eventually do that and put it through the walls and stuff, im a complete idiot when it comes to that kind of stuff and would probably ruin our house, haha.

To game on XBL you need high latency, bandwidth isn't terribly important. I used to use a wireless bridge with awful bandwidth but great latency. Downloads sucked but actually playing online was fine.

You might be okay there. I have my brothers 360 hooked up in a similar way: it's connected to his PC which is on wireless. He plays MW1 fine on it. Only issue is the NAT type isn't open so finding a game can sometimes be troublesome.

I think you mean low latency.

Had another classic Final Stand moment last night on Favela. Working on my ump run n gun skills, and was doing pretty good until I ended up dying 4 times in a row. Rushed into the house right by B and saw two guys running up stairs. I shoot 1 down, tried to get the other, but he drops me. While in FS, I shoot him in the nuts and he's dead. So, I'm lying there by the stairs with my SPAS. 3 guys run in, one at a time, and get blasted. I get back up from FS, run upstairs into the bathroom, look across, and see two guys in the grassy roof across from me. Both down, and I get a Prdator, then comes Harrier, Pavelow, and the rest is history.

Ended the match 26-6

Yeah I love when I final stand and get back up. Some guys see you go down and leave you there not realizing you aren't dead yet. I have gotten to the point where I double check for deadness LOL!

I think I am getting a little better skill wise though (or the guys I have been playing against lately are worse) because at least once a game I can get a short KS going and at least get the predator and about 40% of the time usually get to harrier. About 1 out of every 10 games I get all the way to pavelow.

I am consistently getting a 1 1/2 times and sometimes 2 times more kills than deaths now which is much much better. Bear in mind this is typically w/o much of a KS going since I routinely except the predator since I always seem to get 4 kills and then tagged!!

I still really enjoy the game and just reached major general **

Ya know, it seems that the Spas is the new popular 2nd weapon...I see 'em everywhere now.

I used to run the Spas as my 2nd, but the full auto shotty is there right now. It's really nice esp with Scavenger Pro. Still haven't gotten the M1014, which I expect to take over as 2nd when I get it.

Yeah, the AA-12 is a great second option. It's fantastic to switch to before entering buildings or alleyways, then switch back to your AR when in the open. Also if you're flashbang'd you can spin around wildly letting it off and can take the FB'er out with it!

It's a one shot kill at a decent range..for a shotty that is. Deadly in CQB. One word of advice, do not equip a silencer on it. I have had to shoot people 2-3 times at close range to kill people.

Also, I like that it holds 7 rounds off the bat. The pump action feels good, and gives me a moment to reset for my next shot. The auto one seems to go off like crazy, and I feel like I have less control.

Agreed the AA-12 is my weapon of choice when entering a tight space or indoors.

Agreed on the Silenced AA-12 comment as well.

On Afghan and Wasteland though I always run a launcher. Most every other map its the AA-12.

I pretty much do the same, but for my rng class I can't equip scavenger.

I hate it when I prestige and don't have a cold blood or a stinger, and no one on my team (usually a random pub team) carries a damn stinger....WTF? I can A. keep dying like a fool or B. Camp in a building (which is boring).

Also, I've been working on trying different guns and really like the FAL with Holo. Two shot quick kills. Just two taps and look for the next guy. It's pretty nice. Almost as good a Holo on the m16.

well I usually run SOH or Bling if I need an M203 so no scavenger for me. My attachment on my TAR 99% of the time is a silencer. I actually find I do better with the iron sights on the TAR than I do with the ACOG (ACOG is a must for me on the M4 which I like as well).

I do tend to toss the ACOG on there when I am "guarding" something like in Domination or Sabotage as I tend to pick a good spot and protect the objective sometimes. I know, I know its camping but it is a necessary evil in those game variations IMHO.

I wouldn't call that camping - I'd call that playing the game. Camping is when someone does that in a DM match, IMO. Still, nothing wrong with attacking from a good spot. I personally just don't care for those who sit in the same spot all match. Altho it makes for good pickins when I figure out what that spot is :twisted:

If there were no Kill Cams I can assure you the camping in this game would be even more horrific

That's the one thing I dislike about Hardcore. I like the lack of a map, and the higher damage, but the camping gets old.

I don't mind people sniping. Having a good sniper is part of being a good squad. The only camping that annoys me is when a team gets a slight lead then holes up in the embassy building in Invasion, or camps the bridges in Rundown, so that the team who is behind doesn't even have a chance to come back. If whole team camping was fun, every game would end in a tie at 0 - 0.

also, omfg i am awful at this game, and the graphics arent as fantastic as i was expecting. and i like how you can level. i dont understand what any of this stuff that pops up is though. confusing. what are the green bars to the right of your deaths? connection speed/quality?

more impressions later, heh. for now, although i dont even find the game to be that great, its oddly addicting. must. play. more.

yah, that's your lag meter. You want that to be in the green...at least 3 green bars. It's rough when you start, but once you get the feel for the guns and an idea of where everything is on each map, you'll start doing better. Advice: Keep an eye on the kill cam for the location of the people that are killing you.

i am pretty sure the game is a dd 5.1 game, thus the 5.1 and not 7.1. 5.1 works very well and the programmers did do a good job of using sound for location, i know on more than a few occasions, i have heard people coming up behind me on my 5.1 system and the placement seems to be pretty accurate as i have had teammates run behind me and it goes from one back speaker to across to the other. on pc i just run headphones but w/ the ps3 in general the sound brings you quite a bit more into the game

as far as the stuff that pops up, it should be you unlocked some stuff - go into the barracks and if there is "new" in green by some stuff, go in and check it out
