i played a few games with the most annoying 2 people i have ever encountered. Not that they were good or anything just annoying. They both seemed to have the m1401 (or whatever the lvl54 unlock shotgun is) marathon/lightweight/commando. All they would do is run all over jumping. Like good old CS days of bunny hopping. All they would use is their shotguns too. Was just annoying to kill them. They both did ok. Like -1 KDR most games with a few negative KDR.

Just my god it was annoying seeing someone jumping around in front of you.

I've noticed more of this "OK I'm going to jump and try to kill you" shit. At least it's only good for one jump, the return to the ground slows them down and it's bye-bye.

I think there are a couple of challenges that involve killing while jumping/airborne. That's the only reason I know of to play like that.

It happens sometimes. Even though you stun/flash near them, it doesn't always stun/flash. Its happened a decent amount of the time to me. I throw a stun or two knowing someone's there and get the X in the crosshairs indicating that I got him. I run in and then get mowed down wondering what the hell just happened.

The stun/flash stuff I can generally explain away with obvious code faults concerning elevation and whatnot. But smoke doesn't work like that. On the killcam there is no smoke at all, and they easily shoot me when I can't even see them. That is why I started to wonder if smoke grenades worked like flash in that if your team throws it, you can see through it. But now that I think about it, I know that isn't true. So it makes me wonder if maybe it's possible someone is cheating. I mean it could be a bug, but it's an odd bug.

I thought that too at first. but they did it for a good 6 games. So it definitely wasnt for the challenges.

I know with smoke times when i might have just seen someone cross i'll spray and pray to get them through smoke. perhaps thats what they did? Or if someone is sitting in the line of fire through smoke i have noticed sometimes your reticule will turn red showing and enemy in which case you shoot.

I dont know really i haven't run into many people using smoke before.

I've finally had some good Domination games of late. I get on a team that gives a shit about capturing flags and doesn't just roll over like a wet noodle. I've also taken to equipping myself with a smoke and C4 rather than my usual flash + semtex. I'm liking the C4 a lot - since there is no bomb warning when it's thrown, I've gotten several unsuspecting people that otherwise would've run away from a nade warning. The smoke is of course useful for capturing a flag.

I also finally got my akimbo Glocks, which aren't as much fun as I had hoped. A shotty is still a better secondary for me.

Now that I've pretty much finished the weapons challenges I want, I'm thinking of Prestiging. I love running around with Marathon/LW/Ninja and my Vector, but I think I'd have more fun starting over.

I agree. While the challenges are fun, getting a new create-a-class slot every other prestige is really the only thing you gain. I've been on lvl 70 3rd prestige for months now, and probably will stay there.

I've never prestiged, so I'm wondering why you should bother doing it the first time at all other than resetting the unlocks and gaining a class slot... what's different about the first prestige vs. any other time?

its just sort of a say you did it thing really. You do unlock the prestige challenges which is also nice if you like to mess around and get challenges. You also get the 6th slot right away. Its kind of just the one time you really gain ALOT from prestige. The rest you just gain class slots every other time. I also foudn it funny how much faster i leveled after prestiging. Seemed like my first time through it took about a night a level from 20-30 and a night and a half the rest of the levels. but the second go around it was like a 2 or 3 levels a night

I went ahead and prestiged. Pretty fun so far starting over. I think I'm in the low teens after a few days?

I've adjusted pretty well, though I do miss my Ninja, Stinger and Danger Close.

Man anyone else been having laggy games all weekend on the PS3? I havent gotten one game that was full green. yellow and the 3 bar green for me. Watching kill cams it would show my aim being way off and or me not shooting at all. Super frustrating! Friend on other side of town has the same problem so who knows

Anyone having issues finding matches?

My NAT setting is open, xbox live is authorized in my modem/router, and my xbox live connection is 100%.

When I try to join domination or any other game type it looks for the games to join 0/50 and goes all the way to 100% and finds nothing. It just starts over and over again.

This setup worked fine for over a year and now all of a sudden after we moved to a new house it is doing this. I've restarted console, modem/router and cleared xbox cache with no success.

{Please someone give some advice.

How is the rest of your service working? I noticed this same behavior when I tried to play while uploading a large file at like 2MB/s. Try speedtest.net and also use their ping tool.

I would call your provider. They generally should have some experience with internet appliances like game consoles and can at least tell you if there's anything on there end messing things up.

P.S. Did you check your router settings? In case something happened in the move...? Or maybe your router no longer has the proper settings for your new ISP? Might be worthwhile to reset to defaults and re-customize again...

Something's wrong with your connection. Run a speed test and make sure you're getting good bandwidth from your ISP. If speeds are good, try isolating the problem by connecting modem directly to pc.

Well I called my ISP and upgraded service. I was using their 786 or something speed service. I upgraded to the 6meg service for only $4 more dollars a month, which blew my mind, and it is making a little difference.

Now I can join a game within about 10-15 seconds after selecting a game type. But I'm still only getting around 3/50 games found. So I called up the guy who initially set up my router a year ago and he's coming by sometime today to check my lines.

He mentioned that since my new home had an alarm system previously installed that could be posing a problem with how it is tied into the main line. So hopefully this sheds some light on this problem for other people.

The extra 4.00 to go from under 1mb to 6mb is def. well worth the money. Good to know it's all working.

The double post was an ops. Thought it didnt go through so pressed submit again. Then was just to lazy to delete one of them. Its still going on so beats me. But even friend across town is having same problem (still) so probably just something locally here.

Yeah on my 360 it generally doesn't find any games when it searches at the first or second ping rate (what does it start at? Like 60ms or so?). By the third ping rate it has 2-3 depending how many people are playing.

I think my situation is exacerbated by the router I'm using as a bridge for the 360. Netflix movies, loading chat windows, etc take a bit longer than it seems they should.

Reach looks nicer than previous Halo's, but it is still Halo. I have no interest in it. I actually slightly lost interest in MW2 with all the talk of Black Ops. Still another month for that, and then MW2 will be no more.
