I might prestige, but I'm not sure yet. I'm only level 35 so far, expecting to take another month to get to 70.

Best I've done in a match without dying is 14-0.

I'm definitely going to prestige as many times as I can. I like to do the challenges over again.

All that you really get from Prestige is a newer rank symbol, as far as I know. Not worth it to me, and personally its fun to kill people who are prestige-ing cause they take it so seriously.

Umm, how does enjoying getting challenges make me take it "too seriously?" I'd think it's the other way around. People who are so worried about their win or kill ratios that they don't want to prestige. I think there's an arguement for both sides...

I'm definitely going to prestige as many times as I can. I like to do the challenges over again.

+1, this is why I enjoy prestiging. I like completing challenges and the sense of accomplishment from unlocking weapons and such. It adds to the fun for me.

Has anybody beat the SpecOps with 10 juggernauts in the Favela and all you have is RPGs and a Thumper? My friend and I got down to 3 left but then he got shot halfway across the map and I got cornered by the remaining 3. We tried for an hour to beat it! Even on Regular difficulty I think this one is a stretch, can't imagine going for 2 or 3 stars.

bucwylde and I tried it on Veteran the other day, I think the most we could kill was 3. I'm sure there's a method to the madness, we didn't take the time to try and figure it out though.

Me and my buddy got it by sticking together and running in a circle around the edge of the level, until each wave was running together. Then we would go to the northeast corner where there's that really narrow alley. Then one of us would get shot down in the alley and trap them so the other could blow them up.

Still takes a bit of luck when the 2 waves of 3 come out, as they spawn on opposite sides most of the time. You just gotta keep moving till they fall into a line.

Anybody ever get killed by an airdrop? Happened to me tonight. Dropped smoke in a corner, tucked myself in about 5 feet away, the crate dropped, bounced, and crashed right on top of me.

Ouch.

Luckily I spawned 1 building over and still got the crate. Talk about humiliating. One of only 2 deaths that round. Lesson learned. Stay close but stay clear of smoke.

I really think some people do take it too seriously. Back in the COD4 days I would hear 10th prestige's berating 1st prestige 55's for not going prestige. I think some people think it actually gives them "prestige."

Getting a sense of accomplishment out of the unlocks is one thing, but I don't get that at all.

Managed to get killed by my second or third crate. Didn't make that mistake again.

Some do and some don't. I'm a 10th Prestige in COD4 and I didn't do anything like that because I kept to myself and only used party/private chat. Also, I'm not much of a smack talker, I just play the game.

I decided last night to bite the bullet and prestige. I wasn't sure at first but I quite like the 7th prestige icon.

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned but you do get an extra custom slot when you prestige for the first time.

Anyone know what you get (if anything) when you reach 10th level prestige?

ooh I've said prestige far too many times in one paragraph

prestige

Yeah, it kind of stinks when you're trying to cover the drop and it comes careening at you for no apparent reason.

Sorry Kabob, I was making a general statement.....but the majority of people I ran into on COD4 did take it too seriously. That doesn't mean everyone does. I'm with you on the fun of unlocking weapons and such, just not unlocking what I've already unlocked. To each their own.

Yep. I didn't interpret it as a blanket statement... but as one of those people who never prestiged, I got so much !@#$ over it, especially when I handed some Gold Cross his ass .

I think I might do it once, because I'm so far ahead of many of my friends anyway (cause I am addicted). It will put me back on sort of a level field with them.

I still feel like i'm learning...

the hardest part for me is to decide which perks to use.

I struggle between these:

1. Scavenger Pro and Bling- I'd like to go with a silencer and heartbeat monitor for "silent" mode...of course i love the acog sight too. sigh.

2. Coldblooded and Stopping power pro-i hate getting killed by the air support as soon as i respawn, but stopping power seems to be the only way to get a kill when you and the enemy see eachother at the same time.

Thats why you have 5 different classes. Each one of my classes is set up for different scenarios.

Class 1: My best weapon setup. If all else fails, I fall back on this weapon setup. Currently consists of an M16 RDS+FMJ, Stopping Power and Ninja Pro
Class 2: Weapon I'm working on leveling up
Class 3: Sniper Class
Class 4: Full stealth. Weapon with silencer, Coldblooded, Ninja Pro. You get the idea.
Class 5: I change around this class based on the map. If there's a specific perk or weapon that's suitable for a particular map, I change this class out during intermission.

That setup's worked great for me so far.

fatpat's system is pretty much what I use. Except sniper. I hate sniping.

Might prestige to get the 6th class so I can have an "annoy people" class with nothing but grenade launchers and rockets an the explosives perk.

what did you mean by 7th prestige icon? do you mean the icon for the 7th level of the first prestige? in cod4 you would get a single icon for the entire prestige until you hit 55 again and continued into the subsequent prestige. do we get a different icon for each level when prestiging?

ps - prestige

I watched one of my teammates get hit by a crate. I was laughing pretty hard after seeing that, then I took his crate. On the plus side I think getting hit completes a challenge, so you probably got some XP for it.

I haven't unlocked the M16 at my level, so i'm still using the SCAR....and it feels like i need scavanger pro. Starting with only 40 bullets and not being able to pick up from the dead sucks. That leaves me without bling. bah.

lol...i love this game.

I've never been killed by a drop but I was staring at a flare and watched the drop land on someone. I couldn't believe it.

You definitely Scavenger Pro with the SCAR. I started using the M-16 last night and tried it without Scavenger Pro and still ran out of ammo.

Yeah, I have no idea why they don't allow you to pick up ammo without scavenger if you find the same gun you are using on the ground. Pretty dumb if you ask me.
